So bummed

In the 5th “sprint” of my speed training post C25K something popped in the bag of my right leg—stopped me dead in my tracks. Got in with my Chiropractor right away and I have a grade 1 hamstring injury. I have been religious about my stretches and warm ups. I’m doing what I need to to get better. I’ve worked so hard. I am afraid of the setback. No one can really say how long I am down for.

Sorry about your injury. Rest up well and let it recover. I was out for 6 months last year due to a a back injury. I bounced back stronger. So will you.

I hope I’m not out that long! Glad to hear you were able to come back stronger!

Ouch - it's horrible to be sidelined with injury but take the advice you have been given and allow your body time to heal (the danger with strains and tears is always in coming back too soon). Fingers crossed that you are back out there soon.🙂

Thanks. I’m planning on following the recovery plan so I’m back in good shape and don’t end up with a worse injury.

Please be realistic in your training. Like me, you ain’t no spring chicken! Sprint intervals so soon after graduation might not be the best idea. The fact that you tore a muscle on the fifth interval shows it’s not caused by lack of warm up or stretching. More likely you just overworked it. Luckily it’s only grade 1 and you’ll soon be back in your trainers.

I had already done intervals in the past weeks. I’m not sure why it happened.
