Very pleased to say that the cold has subsided and I’ve got out there again. It was a bit of a humdinger which was handy as I was so grotty I didn’t feel like I’d missed much, it’s just my stats for the month have taken a real battering so I’m now playing catch-up. Hopefully I’ll take this carefully but I did give it some welly yesterday.
So it was back to parkrun, a bit slower than I’d have liked and I had nothing left at the end but it was still a good time for me. I’m now determined to get my average below 30 minutes: it’s currently 30:01 so maybe next week? Then I had to take youngest kitten to see a man about a paper round. That was a four mile walk. Then I’d arranged to see my friend, and I could have driven but it’s only four miles away...so I got my kit back on and out I went again. Thankfully my lovely friend drove me home: I was never so grateful for the feeling of heated seats on my tired thighs 😁
According to my FitBit I’ve never burnt off the recommended calorie intake for a male before, but I did it yesterday. Also record number of steps for me too 😂😂
I do think I have recovered much quicker because I’m fitter and my lung capacity is so much better. Thank you also to Katnap for his tlc, words of encouragement and supply of menthol sweets. I’ve had colds like this before of course but it usually ends up on my chest, and I was just waiting for the incessant coughing...but it’s not happened 👏👍 Yay!!
So it’s 3 weeks to my next race, the Two Castles Run. The trouble with castles is that they build them on hills, so I’d better get some serious hill work in over the next couple of weeks. This could get interesting...
Have a great week everyone 👏 🦆😻🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️

Sooo glad you’re back TC, and that your pesky cold has gone. How dare it impede your running? Hmph. 😤
Whoa, 30.01 for PR. You couldn’t really get much closer to sub 30 could you? Make sure when it happens that you do a mega post so we can congratulate you and open the bubbly! 🍾 I have every faith in you. You’re a fabulous runner! 🏃♀️👊👍
Thanks cheeky 😍🤗, I’m looking forward to breaking that one. Lots of milestones at the moment, so it was good to find that one as well. Always good to have a target. Not sure if it deserves a mega post though but I’ll see what I can do 😂
Hopefully it’s the last illness/injury for a long while 🤞🤞🤞
😂 Alright, I’ll see what I can do. I didn’t think it was that big a deal, just a personal thing 🤔. Going for a coffee whilst youngest kitten goes climbing GOG, so yes, will have a rest, I promise 😀🤗
Yay you are back and as always you come back with a post that amazes me again 😀😀. PR time was just awesome 🥳🥳. And you just kept going for the day I see. 😀. I always smile thinking of you whizzing around. Just brilliant energy TC. So happy you are better and had your boys looking after you ❤️.
Thanks Wimborne 🤗 they’ve all been fab, they even cooked dinner for me one day 😍 I did fall asleep on the sofa last night with the help of a glass of red 😂
Fabulous way to fall asleep 😴😀. I am planning my comeback with a PR in September some time. My new goal. You just have to have a goal to keep you going. 🤞😀😊
I never look at my average time at parkrun but I know some people refuse a finishing token as they don’t want to increase their average. I’d rather count the run, whatever speed. Given I’ve done a few Tailwalking stints, mine is pretty low.
I’m glad you’re feeling better and Katnap took such good care of you. Best of luck on your upcoming race. Don’t try to make up the missed runs, just get back on track and do the best you can. The last thing you want is to be laid up on the IC.
That’s a very good point Sask. I’ve had quite a lazy day today, haven’t even hit 10k steps yet! I will try to take it as gently as I can (I don’t have enough sports bras to go out too often anyway and that is my main limiting factor! 😁). Thank you 🤗😍
