Dug his heels in. I noticed he had stopped at 8.45. Tried to reboot; just sat there thumbing his nose at me. Plugged into computer. Time corrected itself but no sign of recharging battery. Brought up Gamin Express and tried to synch via that. Dug his heels in further and refused to connect. No screens on him accessible. Google search brought up the advice to hold top left button for 20 seconds and repeat till watch switched off. Did that, rebooted, all is well again. How strange!
Just posting this in case anyone else has the same problem..
I hope so too. its kind of a mini computer, so subject to glitches. Could even have been a blip with the phone or the Mac that triggered it. My mouse stopped working this morning when the Garmin was plugged into the Mac, so it could have happened then.
Lucky for me bought half price when less than 6 months old (i know because it was shortly after they came out) from ebay. But Ming does have a mind of his own as you say ✊🏼
Yes, our Garmin's play up sometimes, mine now won't shut down, been like it for ages, it won't reset and Garmin support are no help... Can still use all the functions on it, just have to make sure the charge is up when running...😠
I'd never buy another Garmin. The orange brick that I Iast had had endless issues with connectivity and locking up and not synching data properly. And as you say, support is awful. I went to the dark side with Polar. Haven't looked back since...
To be fair, this is the first real issue Ive had. Synch issues are often the phone not the watch. My Google Pixel (first generation) has been terrible to synch other trackers. Fitbit was a nightmare. The Garmin has been the best so far. I had a Polar, fantastic watch, even tracked heart rate while swimming, but it was so bulky and ugly and uncomfortable. I wear my running watch 24/7 so it has to be comfortable and look good with any clothes.
