I pushed my own little boundary a little. I had gotten locked into a mental upper limit of 30-minute runs since completing the C25K course, and always used to gasp down to a walk whenever the clock hit 30 min. Today I set 40 min as the total target which incorporated the two 5-minute walks on either side of the 30-min jog/shuffle. I then accidentally ran 5 min longer after failing to check my phone towards the end of the jog. I don't remember the exact sequence of events, but Samsung Health which I was using to monitor this one said, "You're almost there," or some such words of encouragement. When I glanced at my screen, it indicated there were 2:00 min left. I did a double-take. Had I really run for 33 min? Of course I had, unknowingly. Well, I had enough in the tank so I actually picked up the pace and bolted the remainder. It was exhilarating. I wore a big grin as I headed for the showers.

30-Minute Runs May Be a Thing of the Past
Hey! The Dude Abides. A great way of stretching mental limits.
And so it begins... Have you tried a park run? It's a great way of stretching that upper limit but it's ok if you run/walk bits (or all) of it. You're already covering the distance. (Love the name btw)
Hello there, I have just registered for Park Run but have yet to participate in my first one. Where I live in Cochrane, Alberta, the nearest Park Run to me in Calgary is a 30-min drive away. I do intend doing them as frequently as I can when the weather permits. Meanwhile, I'm confined to the treadmill at my local gym.
I keep forgetting that some people are only just thawing out! I've never tried to run on a treadmill, so hats off to you for perseverance. I'm not great at early mornings on a weekend, and I have to be completely planned the night before to have any chance of making it on time 😓 - but it's worth it! It will be quite a different experience for you after a winter of indoor running. I'll keep an eye out for your posts 😊
