Today is the last day of April and my β€˜ can you run 50miles in a month?’ Challenge. And the answer is Yes!!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€. Despite getting food poisoning and being in bed for last 2 days I managed to clock 81.8km this month. So glad I put in a few longer runs in the early weeks as I haven’t run for a few days and will need to take a few more days to recover before I get back out there. But I am pretty chuffed πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€β€οΈ

It is. I’m having a quiet week. 30 mins done yesterday, 20 tomorrow and 10 Saturday (that’ll be a run to parkrun volunteering). It’ll be lovely to meet cheekychipmunks again but I’ve now found out we are in a different start off wave.

Well done Wimborne! That’s a good distance run. πŸ‘Š Bet all the runs were done in true Wimborne the Gazelle style too! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

See how desperate I am to justify new running shoes to Mr Wimborne!!! There really is nothing wrong with my runners but I so want another pair πŸ˜€

You can’t have too many pairs! I’m sure Mr W understands! πŸ˜…

I bought a second pair of Brooks Revel 2’s, β€˜just in case’ they got discontinued! πŸ™ƒ

That's amazing! So are you looking to stay there or push on to 55 miles in May?

Wimborne profile image
Wimborne in reply to Katnap

I hadn’t thought of that but now you have put the thought in my head!!!!! πŸ˜‚. I think my next goal is to swim and strengthen my knees so I can run 10k weekly without it killing my poor knees. I am really rubbish at strength training. 7.5k is a good distance but 10k has me hobbling. Any ideas on strength training for me?

I have an old injury that made my right knee cap pop out of the joint. Yes it hurts! But it hasn't happened for over 10 years after doing cycling.

Cycling is good for the glutes as well 😁
