The "great result" is Accrington Stanley 5 Plymouth 1 , and thus securing League 1 football for another season having tried very hard to throw it away over the last few months! We meet again next year Millsie-J
And the not bad Parkrun was going sub-25 and a PB (by both watch time and official Parkrun time AlMorr ) at Portsmouth Lakeside, our second local option, chosen to avoid doing the last 2.5k along Southsea prom into the teeth of a 40+ mph westerly. Still windy, but sheltered by woods and some buildings.
The trouble is, I'm horribly superstitious about my footy, and the 3 games out of their last 4 that Stanley have won to pull themselves out of the mire coincide with days when I've run sub-25 Parkruns (today and a fortnight ago) and a sub-55 10k (this Tuesday). Last Saturday I did a volunteer stint, and they got hammered . So it looks like I'm committed to trying for a sub-25 Parkrun every Saturday next season - and it doesn't bode well for watching their last game of the season down here in Pompey next Saturday, when I'm volunteering again before a trip down to Bristol with Dexy5 to meet up with cheekychipmunks again and do the Great Bristol 10k.
It's a funny old game ….
