Last October my little parkrun buddy Oisin and myself traveled from Dublin to Bristol for our first UK parkrun and to do some parkrun tourism and complete East on our compass challenge by running Eastville parkrun. A quick little post on the this forum a couple of weeks before to check if any fellow Bridge to 10K forum members might be at Eastville, cheekychipmunks was first to reply and soon a plan was hatched led by Cheeky. UpTheStanley Dexy5 SkiMonday @cheekychipmunks and Flossie the Dog turned out to greet us. It was a great parkrun even though we ran the B course due to flooding at the pond.

I was searching my phone earlier and I came across this photo and loads more of our trip in Bristol. We had an amazing time, but my highlight was meeting the VRB’s who were that day Real Running Buddies. And the nicest people you could meet. Looking forward to planning a trip again when all this Covid-19 malarkey is over to a South parkrun and will hopefully see some of you guys again then.

I can’t wait. We will be back for Southampton some day. We will meet again. How cool would it be if we ran out 100th together. Although my home parkrunners would kill me if I didn’t run it at home.

Yes I think the 100th is a home run - you can get all your running pals dressed in a theme. We’ll try and do it the same day even if not together in the same location.

Aww Damien, it was lovely having you visit Eastville even though you couldn’t run our lovely A course round the lake. The B course is harsh, having to run the full length of the hill 3 times, but you guys all did it proud! 💪

We need to get that tourism going again as soon as we are allowed. 🏃‍♀️ 🏃 🏃 🏃‍♀️

I’ll be looking forward to it. Oisin loved that little trip. Bristol is a beautiful city. He had his first Burrito 🌯 in Bristol Airport on the way home and loved it. My highlight from the Trip was meeting you guys at parkrun. His highlight was Flossie and the Burrito.😂

How lovely is that, one day in the future sometime hopefully more of us will have such heart warming meet ups, I’ve yet to do my first Park Run, sooooo looking forward to it 🤗

I’m looking forward to going to Southampton some Friday and staying over for a parkrun and meeting some more Forum Members. Hopefully Ryanair flights will still have their bargains.
