Hi everyone, I’m looking for a new fitness watch with GPS tracking. Preferably garmin as many of my friends have garmin so I like the idea of seein each other’s activities etc. Any recommendations? Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with the Vivoactive 3?

If used the Vivoactive but I have Forerunner30 and love it. It shows HR, pace etc and covers everything I want it to. My daughter splashed out on the more expensive Forerunner235 and she loves the look of it ( round clock face ) and the nicer straps ( she thinks). I’m happy with mine and it’s turquoise rubbery strap.

Good luck with your choice

Another vote for ForeRunner 235.

I have the Forerunner 235 and love it to pieces. I’m sure I don’t even use it to its full potential, but it tells me every running stat I need, HR etc. I got a screen protector for it too, just in case .....

I got mine in the Amazon Black Friday sale. I think it was £149. I don’t think I’d pay full price for one. Have fun choosing, Garmins are fabulous. 😀

I have the forerunner 235 and my partner has the vivoactive 3. They are similarly priced. A lot of the features are the same but I would say that the vivoactive is a better all round tracker while the 235 is more specific to running. For example the vivoactive counts the number of flights of stairs you climb in a day, but the 235 gives you a recovery time after a run.

Also, the vivoactive has a touch screen while the 235 is controlled by buttons. I prefer the buttons as if you want to look at your heart rate for example whilst running it can be quite hard to use the touch screen accurately whilst bobbing up and down, much easier to push a button! I also think the battery life is a little longer on the 235.

Happy shopping!

I have the forerunner 35 which does everything I need it to do plus more. I only wear mine for activities, my OH wears his all the time.

I like the way it connects with your phone, apps and Bluetooth earplugs so you don’t need to touch your phone once you’ve set off.

I am a Forerunner 35 fan too. I bought it as the cheapest Garmin with its own GPS I could find. It has a button on each corner, but I only really use two! More or less, top right for selection and bottom right for scrolling! As Dexy says you get in run data...with current pace being really useful (so you can slow down or speed up before it is too late). I wear it all the time.

I have a Forerunner 235 and am very happy with it. The Garmin app and Connect website are also excellent.
