...listening to the wind πŸ’¨ wishing it was a lovely sunny day. 5.5km still to do and today is the last day. I can’t take all day about it, I have to catch a train at 12:20.

Last night I organised to go do a run with a friend who got to W6 of C25k and stopped there. I thought he might be faster than me, but he’s still taking walking breaks. He thought I might be faster than him. He nearly texted me last night to back out. I nearly texted him this morning to back out. But I know you lot are watching so I hauled my ass out of bed, got dressed in Lycra, realised I have no coal left and went to get some, then set off to my friend’s house.

We set off, there’s a cold wind, he insisted we go at my pace. I tried to keep it slow, it’s a recovery run after all. Soon he said it was too fast and he was finding it hard on his lungs. We slowed down. Sometimes we walked a few seconds, (and we did end up going at his pace), but he’s competitive so we never walked for long. We ran past the furthest he’s ever gone, turned round at 3km and were on the home stretch. Mentally it got easier at this point for my friend. Slightly down hill and we’ve got the worst over and done with. We both hit a really comfy pace and agreed to speed up at 5km for the last 0.5km. We pretty much raced that last bit. Bearing in mind this is the person who could walk faster than I could β€˜run’ when I was ill. We pushed it to the end then started a long cool down walk. After 60 seconds he was ready to run again! (We didn’t).

I hit my distance target and he ran his first 5km. The pace was 7:34mins/km. Really good for him, perfect recovery run for me. Yay!πŸ’₯πŸ˜€

Right, got to run for the train πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Missed it for Feb and never made up the difference. Now I’m caught up I hope to hit my target for April. It’s a rolling target of 700 km in 2019, so April is 700 divided 12 x4.
