Hi guys !! Well as encouraged to do I started a program of planks and bridges today after getting clued up on youtube. Must say when executed properly these are not as as easy as they look !! Managed to hold the basic elbows to the ground (flat ?) plank position for 57 seconds and instinctively knew what muscles were being worked , feels like a good thing this !! Basic bridge exercise again required more effort than any demonstration video would seem to indicate .More to this running game than donning a pair of ropey tennis shoes and heading on out , must admit its a fascinating way of life with nutrition ,exercise and progressive trainng schedules, all contributing equally to keeping us fit4life !! Out early tomorrow , last of the 30 minute consolidation runs before our 35-40 minute outing on sunday !!

Thanks guys !! Aches and little soreness around the midriff ,but to be expected, and dare I say ,relished ! Planks and bridges (sound like instruments of torture !!) take no prisoners, and effort as well as commitment is required ,but I have no doubt, my core muscles are being worked , and some !! Before too long the results will be apparent in my posture , endurance and overall physical fitness which will enable me to run further,longer, quicker (mmhh !!) with less likelihood of sustaining injury !! Learning such a lot of valuable info from my fellow runners on this forum, and such a friendly bunch too !!
