Having run my very first parkrun on 27 October- and only then embarked on C-5K ... then run my very first sponsored 5K two weeks ago ... AT LAST, I ran parkrun again this morning๐. I managed it in 37 m 49 seconds which is 11 seconds shorter than my other run two weeks ago.
I used NHS Laura's 'Stamina' podcast to accompany me most of the way - as a bit of a 'security blanket' - as running surrounded by others is still so unusual for me.
I have celebrated by going out and buying what seem like a very comfy pair of bright red (!) running shoes from Decathalon (my trusty 3-year-old Aldi trainers having got me 'over the line' might deserve an honourable retirement!).
For now, I aim to keep up 3 x 30 minute runs per week with the odd parkrun ... I enjoy marshalling most weeks to run it too often!
Would love to hear your advice on improving my times and general setting of next goals๐.

Well Done Notsoslothfulnow , my parkrun times have come down as Iโve increased my distance during the week. I did jujuโs magic plan to 10k, which you can find on the bridge to 10k forum. Also , if you have an iPhone there is an app called JogRunSprint which is great fun.
Thank you so much๐. Really helpful advice. Unfortunately, I have an Android phone so cannot get that particular app. I have got the NHS Laura follow-up to C-5K intervals podcast that might achieve something similar, however. Many thanks again!
Yay!!!!! You got there .... Great parkrun...๐๐๐๐. I am not a speedster so went for increasing distance. Just slow and steady using 10%rule then found JJs plan. Good luck and happy running ๐
