A long way to go

Back in January I set myself the target of running 1000k this year and found this very low tech way to keep me focused (and discourage me from snacking and too much wine πŸ˜‚).

This week I made it off the sole of the shoe!

Still seems like a long way to go and Strava (more high tech way of staying focused) tells me I'm 29k behind pace!

Just keep running...just keep running! πŸ˜³πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

It’s a good target Debs when you have other responsibilities.

20k/week sounds very doable when sat on the couch planning it. Then life gets in the way and you need a marathon distance in a week to catch up.πŸ€”

I thought I had it cracked, 9k/day x 21days then a 20k week reset each month.209k /month. Then tried 5k/day and the same reset , 125k / month.

Good luck Debs you are a more experienced runner, you will do it.

I'm not sure I have as much faith as you Tbae ! Right now I'll just be happy if my knee holds out for the rest of the year. It is good to have a goal though.

Interesting Deb! Is this pinned to your fridge, and do you get to colour a piece of trainer for every k run?

Are there 1000 spaces.. very clever!

😊xxx

Bluebirdrunner - yes, yes and yes!

The spaces are generally tiny so I only colour it in once a week. I'm not convinced about how motivating it is right now πŸ˜‚.

This is a great plan & I love the shoe of motivation! I think a visual reminder is a really good idea and I'm a big fan of sticking things on the fridge where I can't ignore them. You'll be creeping up the laces before you know it! Good luck. πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ‘Ÿ

What a brilliant idea πŸ˜ƒ even if it takes longer than a year you will still have run 1000k more than most people πŸ‘πŸ»

What a neat way to keep track! I'm also behind on my yearly running goal already due to weather and non-running injury stopping me in my tracks for the last month. But I've got a plan in place and ran my first run yesterday. Goal is still doable as long as I keep running regularly. We'll get it done! Just keep running......just keep running! I like that 😁

Good luck with your journey. This colouring is a great idea - you will feel so good once the colour starts to build.
