End to end tech challenge 🤣

Can any of my wonderfully helpful VRB’s advise please ?

The ETE version most folks here seem to use does not mention MapMyRun/Walk as a way of registering distance.

I’ve seen another one (Conquer?) that does?

Would really like to set myself a running/walking challenge but need to overcome the tech one first.

Thank you

ETE accepts screenshots. So I found that the easiest method to submit evidence for me was the following: I used screenshots from all sorts of running apps, incl Runkeeper, zombiesrun, StepsApp.

Process:

- I have the correct website to put in evidence saved onto my IOS iPhone Home Screen

- I take a screenshot of my Runkeeper saving image in photos automatically

- I submit it through that website, uploading image I took

Works well.

ETE has announced that soon an app will be launched making everything even easier.

But I’m also impressed by the Conqueror offer of also planting trees as part of their environmental strategy.

So I was tempted by both services, and am doing ETE at the moment.

Thanks for advice - I might give a shortish Conquerer one a go as tree planting appealed to me too and they definitely accept Mapmyrun - it will save me getting muddled with android apps 😉

I might join you, as I’m on the hunt for a shorter run for my first running medal. Let us know which one you go for and when. There might me more of us tagging along. 👍🏽💪🏃🏻‍♀️

ETE also do tree planting and they sent me a photo and coordinates of my very own Downy Birch tree sapling the other day and I’m still only half way through the challenge !! (Pennine way) - was a lovely present ☺️

Decided on Grand Canyon hopefully starting on 01/01/21. It’s only 450k 🤣. You can take anything up to 18 months to complete it and you can change this target. I’ve started with 26 weeks. This is reasonably ambitious as it comes in at approx 17k per week and currently I’m doing about 12k ...but definitely possible.Would be great to have more people along for company so let me know what you think. It’ll be my first medal too as only started this running lark in April 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Ufff, 415k. I’m just about going to make that with RunLEJOG summer next year. When I started I calculated where I would be getting to with my then averages, and it was ca 333k which would get me to my home town as the route goes thru there. I now am likely to make the Lake District but I am an ultra slow runner so I fear 450k might be still too much for me at the moment. But yes, let’s make sure we know who runs which races in HU! 👍🏽

As I said, you can set whatever time frame you like so no pressure. I’m very slow 🐌 but I do seem to be able to keep going. I dare say I will need more than 26 weeks but I like to have a target and the end of June sounded good to me for starters Also you can add walks which I don’t do currently when looking at my weekly distance

Good point. I’ll have a look. I’ll certainly be starting something on the 1st, as my Birthday is in January and this will be my hubbies present for me.

I’m also thinking as a possibility of entering two races at the same time with two diff’t activities: the channel race with my rowing as cross training activity and I do fancy running Hadrian, as I had wanted to walk it in the past.

Of course I’ve also committed to do Yoga with Adriene in Jan!

Oh no! There are not enough days in the week!

So I’ve done some more research ... you can count different exercises eg. walking, running, daily steps, cycling ... up to 3 I think ?Also to my surprise, my “mission” started today when I wanted it to start on the 1st but I needn’t worry - I messaged the support people and I just wait for 2nd Jan and say I want to start yesterday - seems weird but apparently works.

Good luck with your mission/challenge - hope it goes well
