My last post was from Luarca, northern Spain. After that we went to the mountains. I did manage another short run there, around the village local to where we were staying in this lovely converted monastery. It was quite hilly, so it was hard to avoid gradients. I encountered 2 geese in an enclosure in a garden, was going to take a photo when they came up to the wire and honked at me so hard I ran away, not wanting to disturb the owners
Then I was chased by a dog which came barking out of a house front path, not tethered. I was seriously quite alarmed as I didn't want to get bitten - and it was not friendly.
Shortly after that I headed back to the hotel for my shower.
We're back home now and I did one of my familiar 5k runs yesterday, along the canal & river paths. They've become a lot more overgrown in the last 2 weeks! I gather there's been a lot of rain here, which we didn't have. It wasn't very sunny in that part of Spain, but mild and quite overcast.
I've had a lot of changes recently. I started c25k 3 years ago at the age of 57, so not surprisingly I had my 60th birthday recently, and retired from work at the end of May. We went away almost immediately, to mark the occasion. Now I'm back and starting to figure out this next phase of life. It will figure running, that's for sure - and that's not something I would have envisaged 3 years ago! More time for my many other interests as well.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying their running
