Surprise long 15k run on Day 15 of the run streak, very nice though.

A lovely sunny day up here in the Noth East and after a morning of boring chores I was itching to get out.

Although i have been doing this 5k a day run streak I thought since it was so nice I might go a bit longer, thinking 7km , maybe 8.

Anyhow I headed off north from Dinnington, first to Horton Grange then carrying on up the narrow country lane that goes to Tramwell Woods near Morpeth.

It was very quiet with barely a car about, the road was undulating, the uphill sections not so steep they were a struggle and the downhill parts just enough to allow me to pick up the pace and before I knew it I had gone 7k all on the same direction, away from home!!!.

So it turned into a long run but that was ok, the breathing was fine throughout and legs only suffered slightly at the very end.

15k at a decent pace and my first long run since November 25th.

Plenty to look at on the way round also as I spotted a Kestrel, a fox, a pair of buzzards and somewhat bizarrely a Little Egret on top of a tree just outside our estate.

Run happy, run safe.

15k for day 15, you know how you'll have to celebrate Day 50 now, right?!? Just kidding! A great not-so-little run, mid streak with a very decent pace. Nicely done!

Thank you, I wanted to get extra in as I fear the streak might be broken tomorrow, I have a raging cold and very strong wind forecast up here tomorrow. We shall see but whatever I will make sure I get the same distance over the 50 days I would have done xx

Amazing Chris, you’re really on a roll, and was a great time for a 15k 🏃🏃🏃 It sounds like such a wonderful run, and what a good plan, taking advantage of the bonus good weather - not often we get much of that this time of year. 👍 Grey down in the SW, but not too cold and practically no wind for my 5k today. All good!

Happy running! 😀👍

Great stuff Chris, 15k on top a a succession of 5k’s is no mean feat.....a rest seems the way to go now, you earned it 🤗

I think the lurgy or the weather was always likely to strike at some point considering the time of year, will see how things are tomorrow!!

Great run Chris. Isn’t it great when you ‘accidentally’ go further than planned but still feel good at the end?
