Strava notifications are driving me nuts!

I turned them off in settings weeks ago, they stopped for a few days then started arriving again. I’ve unsubsribed via email too and that stopped them for a day. They’ve broken through again. They are running down the battery on my Garmin because I have it set to email notifications. Aaagghh!!! Anyone else having this problem? Anyone got any tips to stop it? Don’t tell me to do the things I’ve already done or I will shoot myself ☹️😱 🔫 💥

Unfriend everyone 😂

I get Strava alerts... I don’t use it so I don’t cause any, I’m good like that.

I seemed to manage to stop all notifications somehow, so it now only shows me alerts once I click on the app on my phone.

I don’t remember exactly what I did, sadly, Flick, but when I look under settings in Strava on my phone (got to via profile), it appears that I turned off email notifications, but that I also manually switched each slide switch to off for everything offered in Push Notifications within settings.

Hope that helps. ❤️

Did all that ages ago ☹️

Sorry Flick...I’ve got no other good suggestions. No idea what’s happened or why it’s singled your account out...🙁❤️

Hope it stops again soon! ❤️

Thank you. It’s one of those Biggleswade first world problems.

I actually said niggly but Apple auto correct seems obsessed with Biggleswade!

If you want to turn off all notifications I think you do it on the watch in smart notification settings. Press run, then scroll to Bluetooth, then Smart Notifications. If you have Android then you can toggle which notifications go to the watch and which ones don't. This is fine in the Garmin Connect app.

Otherwise it's the Strava app itself but it sounds like you have already been down that road!

I have been down that road ☹️ And I don’t want to turn off all notifications. I want email notifications, and obviously I can’t exclude specific ones from the watch. It’s infuriating. I didn’t have this problem on Android. Grrrr 😡

Yeah. I used to have a Pebble watch and you could limit what was sent to the watch by the iPhone but for some reason you can't do it on the Garmin watches!! I spoke to Garmin support about that when I so had an iPhone and they just told me you couldn't do it!!

in reply toRichard7

You can limit which notification s you get, but you can't fine tune email - but I suppose you cant expect to. the problem is with the Strava link not the watch methinks!
