It has been a (long) while since i've been here. Feeling in limbo regarding where to post. I have graduated c25k but have not improved my time, pace or distance. Obviously life gets in the way but i know that's an excuse.
It is harder to keep up the schedule of runs when not aiming for a particular goal. I miss Lauraaaa!!!
I found the c25k+ podcasts very good. And still i have not progressed from there. So i feel i do not really deserve to be in the b210k forum... really....
Anyway i bought myself long running leggings for the cold as it is getting quite chilly. I promise to show up here more often. It's amazing how reading people's posts gives me the drive to run
Does anyone know of any other training podcasts after laura? What do you do to push yourself out the door every other day for a run? Psych me!!!
Hope you have had a great Christmas π. You defo deserve to be in the b210k forum and have come to the right place for support.
I donβt listen to training podcasts but do listen to other podcasts whilst Iβm out running. Iβve found they help me switch off and I almost forget that Iβm actually out there running
My motivation is that Iβm determined not to let go all the progress I have made since completing C25K. π
Thanx for the welcome! I too listen to podcasts. Usually comedy, like "my dad wrote a porno" cos like you say, i forget my struggle" and also laugh as a side bonus!!!
I have dowloaded some running music which keep you at a steady tempo. But i thought it might boost me to have a hearing "push" like laura at c25k.
I think it's why i have been a bit skivy on scheduled runs: i have no particular goal like before.
But you are right: letting go of all this work and progress is a huge pity, and that should pull me forward.
Like folk say the hardest part is often just getting out of the door!!!
I listen to music mainly. Also Zombie run is pretty good fun. And Nike podcasts b.. there's different ones for speed, distance, time etc.... Happy running!!
I find I need a goal to motivate me, so maybe decide what you'd like to achieve next - reaching 5k, getting up a particular hill without stopping, running 10k, doing parkrun .... the choices are endless.
There are podcasts on here for stamina and pace, and there is ju-ju's plan on B210K for reaching 10k.
Yes you're right. I thought going out without a target and just enjoying the run would improve me but it has had the opposite effect: no definite goal so no wild motivation!! So i will prioritize!!! Thank you very much!
I was encouraged by my c25k buddies to post here so yes, here i am! ππ now the crucial next step is to move forward, make progress and feel good about myself again! Could be my new year resolution!!
Hi Mayanow, Merry Christmas! I found that after I graduated C25K I needed to keep on using Laura. I keep repeating week 9 every time I run as that helps me get into a rhythm and hit the 30min comfortably now. Then I just go at my own pace with mini targets along my running route.
Whatever you do I feel that just getting out on a regular basis is key.
Hello kho! That is not a bad idea actually... i stopped using the c25kpodcast on w8 as i needed something to take my mind off the struggle. (Listened to comedy instead. ) So it will be like a new laura!!
Thank you!
And you are right. Not missing runs is key. It's easy to get out of the habit because days add up when you postpone!!
Hey Maya, just found your post. Of course youβre welcome on B210K! Lots of us felt intimidated posting on here after C25K, but it has the same uber friendly vibe (kid speak!) and all the familiar VRBs are here too!
Youβre doing brilliantly Maya and will continue to do so! πππππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Congratulations on completing the plan. I know exactly where you are coming from, it took a while to convince myself to join B10K but itβs definitely the right place, I promise you.
After finishing C25k I aimed to get my 5k down to 30 mins by using Parkrun. You get carried along by the crowd and I found it really helped. Do you have one nearby? Once Iβd done that I consolidated for a bit then did JuJuβs plan to get to 10k.
Meanwhile, Iβve discovered various podcasts: the Parkrun βFree Weekly Timedβ, βRunners Worldβ monthly, and Mark Kermode & Simon Mayoβs film reviews (lasts 2 hours, so lasts a 10k run, stretching afterwards and a shower!!).
Hope that helps in some way. I can imagine youβre feeling a bit lost, but once you find your (Lauraless!) way thereβs all sorts of possibilities out there.
