Just wanted to say hello to all you lovely folk on here who I have really been missing whilst entangled in the cut and thrust of a primary school Christmas!

What with all the Nativity Productions, Christmas dinners, panto trips, Christmas fayres, concerts and Carol services and the general fever pitch level of excitement I haven't run much in the last month and stress levels, migraines and my general mood have definitely suffered as a result!

So it was great to get out this morning for a gentle 5k and, inspired by Hidden and her impressive marcothon, I've decided to have a go at a little running streak of my own and run every day of my 16 days holiday.

I am planning to alternate my usual pattern of three runs a week (5ishk, short intervals session, longer run 8k+) with short joggettes of no more than 3k.

Think this will benefit me physically and moreover mentally and I always love a bit of a challenge.

And because I know you all care - don't worry I'll go steady (have lots of lovely leisurely audio books and radio stuff I've missed lined up) and listen to my body (mainly my knees!) - have no desire to break myself, but right now I'm just relishing the prospect of getting out there and in the daylight too!

Happy Christmas running everyone! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽ„โ˜ƒ๏ธ

I can only imagine how busy you have been in a primary school. Magical time but must be so frantic too. Have a wonderful well deserved break and enjoy getting out in the daylight and getting that runners glow back in your life. Have fun.... and Merry Christmas.

Hi Deb! Phew! You must be gagging to get out there and run after such a hectic term. A wee run streak sounds just the ticket. Even a little 2k can feel invigorating, and will be manageable on your streak. Happy running and happy Chrimbo to you.

Hi Sadie - yes so looking forward to a bit of meditative me time running. Am hoping getting up to run will leave me feeling invigorated for the days ahead - rather than me just vegging in bed or in front of the telly (though will of course leave some time for that too!).

Also great to be catching up with folk on here too!

You will love it! I can't believe how much fitter and trimmer i am, and muscly, even though I'm slowing down now and getting fatigued - though this appears to be the toughest week of the challenge. It's an inspiring things to do, but find some way of sharing - including on here - so that you get the support and motivation that keeps you going x

I've been so impressed seeing your runs on Strava.

Can hardly believe that planning to run every day makes me so excited and feels like a real treat ๐Ÿ˜Š.

It is a treat! Your body begins to look forward to running after a few days and you gain appetite but lose weight. Keep us in the loop x

Lovely idea Deb...enjoy your 16 day runstreak challenge... brilliant way to unwind and finish this year and start the next!

(I found running every other day in November much easier than I expected, there are no gremlins or mental arguments...you just go run!)

Good luck and as Flick says post to keep motivated...๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Šxxx
