Week 5 8k PB

After the fun of Santa running on Sunday, back to plodding alone! Same route as last week, a bit chilly and damp underfoot but bright - perfect weather for this week’s long run. I am so pleased with myself! Last week I just managed to miss my target of getting under an hour, but this week I smashed it. 55 minutes and 58 seconds with a 7.00/km pace. Split times ranged from 6.47 (km 8 😮) to 7.17 (km 4) and each km from 5 to 8 was faster than the previous one. Sometimes it just all comes together. Happy running everybody 😃😃

My gosh! You were on form today weren’t you Spitfire?! 🎯 over 4 minutes off your 8K time from a week ago 👏👏👏👏

Negative splits sounding great too, good job Sandie, I bet you’re chuffed with that result 👍 I should’ve done mine today... it looks like I’ll be getting wet again...

🤦🏻‍♂️🏃‍♂️😁👋

Yep, chuffed to bits TS! I was originally going to wait until tomorrow, but the weather forecast for today was so much better. I’m not keen on running in the rain. Just 4K to do this week and week 5 will be done. We’re in touching distance TS 🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏅

Dead pleased for you Sandie ...what a great run that was. They’d better get engraving all those Graduate10 badges! 🏅

Wow, it really did all come together!

Negative splits, something I can only dream of - my splits perfectly reflect where the hills go up and down, and coming home is uphill from every direction!

Won't be long now till you smash that 10k 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

One day Cheeky, one day we'll do it!!

It really is starting to feel as though I can actually do it. Mind you, I do have the distinct advantage of living in Lincolnshire so virtually flat. I don’t think I’d manage hills!

The way you're going, you can do anything if you put your mind to it!

Check you out speedy Sandie! What a fabulous run you had. Well done! 👏👏👏👏 I did mine today too. Not as quick as yours by some way, but 2 minutes quicker than last week’s travesty of an 8k! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Go us! 👊

Hey, great run Cheeky! 2 minutes faster is brilliant and it sounds as though last week’s wobble is well and truly behind you 👏👏👏🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Yes I think it is Sandie! It might have been quicker still if I’d popped some jelly babies in my pocket to boost me during the last km. But I ate them all the day I bought them (jumbo bag!) Oops! 😅😈
