Reading all these charity runs that you are all doing is giving me Bling Envy 😂 I’ve got to find one to do soon! But in the meantime, we are planning a bit of Parkrun tourism in a couple of weeks to one that is mainly track rather than tarmac, and with this in mind I ‘had’ to get a pair of trail shoes...they are much greener than this picture shows which is a bit unusual but they were Salomons at a very good price so I’m not going to quibble over colour 😁!
Week 5 of The Plan completed on Friday with the intervals (thank you again all who have helped me sort them out!!). Podcast rather than music and GymBoss timers with silly noises worked a treat. Wednesday’s 8k went ok but I couldn’t go far as I was waiting for a new washing machine to be delivered (all that sweaty running gear had made our old one give up the ghost!) so did lots of winding roads circling our part of town. As it was I ran past the John Lewis van delivering to a nearby property near the end of my run so that gave me just enough time to finish it off 😀👍
Week 6 has started with Parkrun as usual. 3rd sub 30 so feeling happy with that, and even happier it wasn’t windy or raining! And the day after the intervals, so my first foray into seeing how I run two days er...running. Then, just to add to a little ‘frisson’ to my day, I joined Katnap and older kitten on their Week 6 Run 3 C25K run (Katnap insisted on doing it, his second one of the day as he’d done it with the group earlier. He’s suffering a bit for it today though, silly boy 🙄) - just as well the washing machine is all plumbed in and ready to go for more sweaty running gear! Got home, cooked and ate dinner and two glasses of wine later I was snoring away on the sofa, the end to a very nice and very fulfilling day 😁
So, ready for more intervals tomorrow and then the grand 1st 9k on Wednesday 😱 it’ll be...cough...cough...fine...
Happy running everyone!
