Never ran in a downpour before, wasn’t raining when I left home, went down the country lanes then oh my goodness, rain coming at me horizontally, was going to do my 8 mile route bout cut it short to 5 miles, doing a 10k on Sunday so it was my training run for it. My goodness, drowned rat wasn’t in it. Not used to this at all are we fellow runners?

Definitely not used to it! I have been running for about 3 and a half years now, and have a lot of kms under my belt, yet I swear this has only happened to me 3 or 4 times! 😊
I hope your shoe are now packed with newspaper to dry them out
This is bonkers rain we’re having today! Sorry you got caught in it. ☹️ Still, it had to happen some time I guess. I’m thinking tomorrow morning’s Parkrun could be my time! Last weekend was wet, but this is something else! 😳💨 💦 🏃♀️
And yes, pack those runners with newspaper. Dries them out in no time. 👍😀
I think I must have my own personal cloud as I’ve been drowned numerous times 🌧 The wet feet thing is horrid at first but the wet seeps out and you don’t notice it after a bit. Not wearing socks helps in that circumstance 🙂
I’ve not had the cold wet icy shock of the year yet though. Icy water meets foot 😳😱. 😁
I get blisters when I wear socks! Going through a bad patch feet wise at the mo 😤
You can get socks for wet trail running that are like those verruca socks. Like a skin I’ve not got any though. Probably out of my price range 🎻
Well done! And I agree with Dexy5 and telford-Mike ... juju's plan is simple and effective. Took me 4 months to go from C25k but only 6 weeks to go from 5 to 10k. Have fun!
Wet feet brings back memories of when I went into a wet bog one cold December at Parkrun Ugh! 😁
Having a mega downpour during a run is quite rare I think. It’s happened to me about 5 times and I find it utterly exhilarating as it’s so wild and so full of energy. My most freaky though was about 2 years ago doing a 10k in the Winter and getting caught in a horizontal hail storm. It felt like I was being shot at by loads of tiny bullets.
