Lovely run today, not a PB but really enjoyed it. Unfortunately something went wrong & I've been given the following runner's time - almost 5 minutes slower 😱. I don't know why it matters to me but it does - I have emailed the lovely people at Parkrun, let's hope they fix it.

I was funnel manager at my local parkrun today and there are quite a few ways in which things can unfortunately go a bit wonky! I hope they can get it sorted for you.

Parkrun did well for volunteers today with all us injured soldiers pianoteacher . I was a marshal too.

It happens all the time when one of the timekeepers misses a runner or double clicks - the pressure’s really on around the 20 minute mark. Then there’s a fiddle needed to get back in step. The effect on the results isn’t noticeable while there’s a constant flow of runners, but where there’s a gap it becomes obvious. Dexy and I finished together once and got a 20 second difference in our times .......
How do you look so good in the middle of the run? I did my local parkrun yeserday for the first time. Eagerly looked through the photos (nearly 600 runners - it took a long time). What? No? Surely not? Do I really look that bad? I ABSOLUTELY hated the two photos of me. My face looked like the fattest, roundest, reddest tomato and I looked so, so old. I have to say the rest of the experience was wonderful, but the photos really took the shine off .....

Funny; I think *I'm* the fattest, roundest, reddest, most-past-its-sell-by-date tomato on the course every time!! That's why I posted the picture, to make people laugh at how tomato-y I look; tomato-ier than a can of Heinz Tomato Soup with added tomatoes. Some kind of genetically modified tomato/snail hybrid perhaps?
You're very kind about how I look - I bet you look great to everyone else, it's only you who think "tomato".
Haha. That's funny. Maybe you're right, but under no circumstances am I posting my picture so we will never know 😀. I'm going to try to hold the thought that other people may not be so affronted by my pic as I was (am). 😀
