Life’s challenges

Talk about obstacles to challenge running 😬 Ive had a week of migraines , thanks to the peri menopause ((apologises to the male runners for sharing with you 😉) so debilitating and annoying.

Went to see the orthopaedic consultant today who said I am probably going to need a hip arthroscopy for a possible labrial tear so I’m now waiting for another CT scan just to confirm the diagnosis. Ironically running doesn’t really make the pain worse its being on my feet all day at work that causes discomfort.

I have managed to do a couple of 4K runs in-between headaches, so frustrating.

Sorry about the miserable post !!

Poor you. It’s horrid when your body feels as if it’s letting you down. I hope the hip and the headaches get sorted soon xx

Sorry to hear of the bad patch. I also have a labrial tear in the hip and it developed into osteoarthritis, so good job you are getting it checked out now. I can run without too many problems- but have to be careful with my stride length and form. You can get through this 😘🤗

Thank you x I managed a 4K run yesterday and I didn’t have pain just a deep ache , it’s being on my feet at work that aggravates it more.

So sorry to read this ((hugs)) I can relate to the migraines and meno-weight. Really hope running will help with those things, but I do try to see it as a life-long commitment not quick fix. Really hope your hip situation can be resolved ASAP so you can get back onto it. If it’s any consolation, I know quite a few fellow riders who have had full-on hip replacements and go back to riding, which is of course pretty hard on the hips; I’m not medically knowledgeable about your condition obvs., but I’m constantly amazed at what the body can do. Be kind to yourself x

Did you see the suggestion in the news something along the lines that the word 'menopause' should be said aloud in work environments a minimum of 3 times a day?

Sounds as though you are in a bit of a world of abject awfulness... but a couple of 4k runs sounds bloomin' good to me with all that weighing down on you. Well done!

I work with mostly women so its the main topic of conversation! The solo male nurse generally says....I’ll go and make some tea shall I” 😂😂

Ps

I took the TV remote control to the GP with me the other day instead of my phone...🙄 cant wait for it to all be over

I’m not sure it’s ever over - it’s replaced with senility 🤣🤣. Running has certainly improved the sweats though.
