roseabi is in France this week enjoying a well deserved holiday, so I am stepping in this week
It's a brand new week, so it's time to start off a new conversation.
Sometimes we don't feel like writing a whole post, sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day!
It could be that you're a recent C25K graduate still building up to 5K, or you're consolidating 5K, or perhaps working towards 10K - maybe you're a seasoned 10K pro! Wherever you are with your running, this is the place to chat about it!!
Or even if you just want to post a quick hello - itβs lovely to hear from you all!
Picture is me on my run yesturday, I got utterly soaked, drowned and numbed. The weather caught up with me and it took me 3 hours to thaw out in front of the fire with 5 layers of jumpers! So keep warm out there everyone X

Good luck, hope it goes well. Not sure where you're running, but round here it looks like perfect weather i.e. much drier than the weekend just gone and remember - Claire CAN do this
Thank you. Yes apparently it should be dry Sunday. Fingers crossed! I'm running Blenheim as I'm a little crazy lol but indeedly.... I can and will. But thank you for the support ππββοΈπ€
I shall be running with Claire on Sunday but the 10k not the HM. Eek indeed. I havenβt run more than 7ish km for absolutely ages and just short runs recently, so no idea if Iβm going to claw my way round. Worried about the loo, worried about not sleeping the night before, worried about coming last or losing my way. Iβve never taken Valium, but now might be time to try - either that or a stiff gin π³
Gin definitely lol. You will be fine Flick. I drink water on my way round and I don't need the loo. Don't change what you do usually. Just trust you. X
Thanks Claire.I think I will take my ,title bottle filled with juice with an electrolyte dissolved in it. Itβs ages since I did a 10k as longer runs have been hard recently. Gulp ...π³
I'm feeling better about it now: i had a really good run this morning. I've been struggling to get the longer runs in since it got colder, but today was lovely, and Sunday is supposed to be bright and sunny too, and thanks x
Ooooh, can't wait to read your race report πππ. Good luck on Sunday, not that you'll need it. Knock everyone socks off with your awesome running tights. Which ones are you wearing (it's amazing how much time I worry about what I'm going to wear on each run and race day, we'll that's a whole different story π)?
Thanks Allie πI shall post photos after the event. My daughter ClarkeyCat is doing it too, so hopefully a pic of us together. I think I will be wearing Sturdy by Design Grafitti leggings.
You certainly look a bit wet there, I did a wet 5k the other day, it wasn't cold just wet, wet, wet! I have come to the conclusion there's not a lot point in having waterproof jackets with hoods for running, I have a Helly Hansen waterproof hooded jacket, it keeps the rain out but you tend to get just as wet from sweating We actually had a slight frost up here in Northants this morning, goodbye summer
Apart from misty rain Iβve not run in βreal rainβ. Iβm starting with a running club next week as motivation to run through winter. My first 10K is on the 14th October so hoping itβs dry! If I want to be a proper runner then Iβll have to run in the wet. Thank you for your running inspiration Ju Juπ
Ran my second ever 10k this morning and shaved time down to 1hr 15 with bumpy fields and tracks included.Happy to be out in the autumn sun down here in the SE.
Hoping to get a little natural ' fuel injection' to reduce my 36 minute 5k time next. Apart from the heel raisers....loving every minute!
Itβs no good , the heating went on this weekend.
A sub 34β Parkrun to start W5 of B210K , followed by 4k this morning where I did my 4k graduation run of C25k. It was 2:10 faster than then but far less exhausting.
Enjoy your running everybody πββοΈπββοΈ
Just completed week1 5K consolidation. It feels good to be running 5k, just mixing up music, routes etc. to keep me interested as I need to keep it going π¬
Hi Ju-Ju, Iβve done an 8K run this evening around Lloyd Parkrun course in preparation for my 5 mile/8K cross country timed event on Sunday. Iβm doing a 3K fast run sometime this week to keep up with my self-imposed 19K weekly target ππ
As long as that goes to plan, Iβll then be moving up to a 3/5/11K combo for the following couple of weeks to prepare for the Croydon 10K on 21 October ππ€πββοΈ
I'm still working on recuperation. As I have a nice new Garmin I might as well be a bit geeky with it. I've set a screen that just shows HR zone and cadence and use it for my steady speed road runs. 6K today at 165 steps per min at a steady Loris like pace. No music because it mucks my cadence up. Got home very relaxed.
I'm just starting week 1.. park run Saturday and did 5.5k tonight whilst listening to Laura (although didn't last the whole session as I'm not that fast!! π)
In a rush of enthusiasm, I signed up for doing 50 miles with race at your pace in September and have just 11.5 miles to go by the end of Sunday. I'm feeling confident that I can get it done. I've been doing the speed podcast from C25K+ and have enjoyed the music with the strong beats so I bought an album on iTunes by Audio Fuel. It is great and the beat really helps me to keep plodding away. I've just come back from a good 6km run and managed to tell those gremlins, which often tell me to stop, to bugger off. Every time I run now I am amazed with how my body is getting stronger and recovering quicker. If only I could sort my eating out as I'm sure losing some weight would help me speed up! Have a great week everyone. π
So Iβve purchased In the sweaty Betty sale and hopefully they will arrive before my 10km race on October 6th. Nervous and not just about the tights !
You'll do great! It's a good idea to take the tights on a test run before race day if possible. It's not great to try anything new on race day in case there are issues.
After a summer of severe drought, as I was leaving the house for my run last night I noticed some large rain drops on the deck. Back inside to grab by wind jacket. Well, this was no light drizzle. My husband left his Physio appointment and figured there was no way I went out running. He was in for such a shock when he got home and I was out running. Fuelled with a new Mellow metal of the 80's playlist, rain, and wind, I ran my second fastest 6-8k run EVER! Whoohoo, it felt great. It's nice getting some quicker runs in after a summer of hilly, technical trail running.....but I'm so excited for my 15k trail run scheduled for tomorrow with a friend. Backpack with trekking poles, hydration bladder, Tailwind, peanut butter sandwich and granola bars plus layering of clothes since the forecast is for right around freezing when we're planning on hitting the trails. Can't wait!
