Welcome to week 7 of 10 is the magic number. How are you all doing? How are you finding the transition to less daylight and getting a bit chillier?
So this week the runs are:
4K
5k
9k
Here is the vid, and this week I share my three top tips for getting ready for a race. Of course there are loads out there. Feel free to add yours too....
When I did my first race I found the noises some people made were really irritating π I had already done parkrun a few times and that was fine, but I suppose that since the race was much longer than parkrun (it was a half marathon), I had more time to find people annoying!? There was this man in a plastic poncho thing that made an excruciating rustling sound, so I made a bit of a game of trying to escape the man - I named him "Russell" π
I find I've got used to it over the years, although if there's anyone playing music on their phones I either sprint past them or (more likely) hang back and let them get away!
Iβve only run two races and there were thousands of runners. I love solitary running but there is a fantastic buzz from a fun run with loads of supporters Lining the route. I ran the10km race course tonight so Iβm ready for 4000 runners next Saturday. Eek π¬

I did it and in a great time for me. I had a few Russells and Wheezers and Ploppers near me which made me smile. I'm sure I sounded like a butterfly landing on a leaf myself
Iβm over the line myself, but will be jogging along with Dexy who is up to week 6 but threatening only to do 8.5k this week instead of 9 - weβll have to see what happens π
Hello juju and bridgerunners. I just love running with people (because I now can) and Parkrun is my favourite run of the week. It also kickstarts my W6 on the magic plan. It really must be magic.
My first proper race is to be the santarun in December but I think it will just be like parkrun in Santa outfits.
