Another week over and another 3 runs under the belt. That's the positive spin.
Before taking my 3 week break I was feeling stronger and able to run further and faster. Now it's a struggle again.
I could take that as a negative. But I am so glad that I can look back at my previous runs and see that even though I am going slower and struggling a little I can see how well I am doing compared with January.
I am building up my distance and pace again gradually. This week I managed 3 x 5k a distance that I have struggled to get back up to over the last couple of weeks. I am happy at the moment with 5k just wanting to focus on my pace before extending my runs again. This week I am going to try and get back to my typical week of easy/intervals/stronger run.
The intervals were a big help in improving both my form and pace and that in turn helped my legs not take such a hammering. In a bid to build up gradually I might try a 30/20/10 this week and doing proper intervals the next. Time will tell.
For now wherever you are in your running – keep at it, stay happy and try to turn any negative feelings into a positive. 😀
