Yo runners , and welcome to week 3 of the quest for September...... How are you all doing on your goals and plans? Are you on it like a raging inferno, smouldering away, or is there nothing but a flicker? share how you are getting on and how its been.
I love this sassy pair in their Puma gear, I want the outfit, and the hat!!
What is the Quest ?:-
The Quest takes one month . You can join any time, within those weeks.
The main aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this, is that while you are doing the programme, your plan is very structured, so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To get a new PB
To train for a specific race
To add In strength, weights, core.... other....
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post, where all the members of the Quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or count me in, and then I would like to. ..............
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and safe week.

Back from a week away and raring to get going again - but what about those quest goals?
Run every 2-3 days? ...7 runs so far in 17 days
Do 100km total distance? ....58km so far, half way through the month
Start HM plan? Yes, currently on week 2 of the Strava/McMillan plan
Do strength training on rest days? Hmmm, well kind of - I've started doing yoga on rest days. Only one session so far, so I guess that's a "maybe"?
Lose at least 3 more lbs? No progress yet (well, I have been on holiday!), but am now abstaining from alcohol for a while to try to restart the weight loss, so we'll see. I guess for now that has to be a
So about three and a half out of five - I'd say that was pretty good
Iβd say you are doing pretty well...... yoga is great, Iβve started doing it and Iβve found more benefit than lots of the strength stuff, particularly all the balance involved itβs so good for running.
On fire? I think not. Smouldering maybe...... My (second) goal is looking within reach. 36km to go to get to that 100km and 13 days to do it in. Shouldn't be a problem as long as I don't damage something........
Thereβs nothing in that photo that makes me want to rush out and buy Puma. Iβve never seen anyone pull a smug and cheesy face at the same time, it must be his party trick.
Sticking to the plan of listening to my body and running within the limits of my health. Looking forward to cooler weather, it will help.
Hi Juju, September is still looking sassy with 3 runs a week on your plan, including a parkrun as the 5k run 1. Once UpTheStanley has graduated (this week??) I think I will swap my runs to 5k Saturday , long run Tuesday, and 4k recovery run Thursday and see how that goes. I think I still see Oldfloss ahead of me πββοΈ.........πββοΈ
Hi Juju, this is an odd ad?!! Iβve had a week off as struggled last week with the 8k although I did make it! I ran a little 5k (never thought Iβd say that!!) today and really enjoyed it. Have a good week runners ππΎββοΈ πββοΈππ»ββοΈππΎββοΈ
Smouldering nicely, Ju.... feeling good after the 8K on Sunday..and all set to repeat last weeks runs... and maybe sneak an extra 1K in at the Coast...cycling is adding to the mix too..
Maybe... a swim in the sea... weather and hurricane aftermath permitting
Unfortunately not...the waves were too high and the wind ..phew...no bike ride either....just 2 runs sneaked in before the storm and after the storm...going back in a fortnight though..so maybe a dip thenπ
I've at least managed to add 2 runs to the Sept tally so now 3 of 10 done. Cold getting slowly better. A busy end to the month ahead with work and getting my son to university! Carving out any time for a run is a bonus.
Last week the fire flickered (= 4 x 7.5K brisk walks + 16K cycling) as I continued my flexibility and strengthening routines to overcome my back seizure.
It didn't feel quite right and I decided not to try running.
This week? The flames have suddenly strengthened - I've just come in from my first 5K run in 6 weeks and am SO pleased! I started off slow and steady - like really slow, and the pace just gradually increased with no pressure, just pleasure - immense pleasure!
I feel like I'm back on track. Will consolidate a couple of weeks at least before starting the magic 10, no doubt.
Not sure Iβm feeling like a raging inferno - but goals are going fine still! πβ€οΈ
Having fun / still running 3 times a week / did first charity 10k on Sunday / volunteered as a marshal at Parkrun on Saturday / did my last 5k at 168 bpm steprate (experimenting with the dreaded Podrunner!) ππββοΈβ€οΈ
My goal is to β¦ umm... actually run! I have published my intention to get back in the saddle as of tomorrow morning. I may not have time for 3 runs per week, but if I could do 2 I'd be happy right now. One would be good β¦.
Did 1 run last Weds, about to go out for another today, Monday (which was next available opportunity) so currently on track. Ached like heck after 1st run though!!!
