No idea why this just struck me, but I always assumed your runniversary would be the date that you graduated c25k. Or should it be the date you started? What do you all think?
Runniversary.....when do you count from? - Bridge to 10K
Runniversary.....when do you count from?
The day we started that's when the challenge began.πͺ
Oh dear, I have no idea when that was!
I would celebrate my 'runaversaryππ' a year after my graduation run rather than the first time I ran W1R1, but if you would rather celebrate the day that you ran week 1 run 1 but don't remember that date. I am sure you will remember your graduation date you can work back 9 weeks for your first run.
only if it took you 9 weeks...!! Many of us took longer
If you used the app it saves the date in each run. Assuming you haven't deleted the app!!
Or changed your phone, like I did. D'oh!
I counted it (roughly) from the day I started the programme, as that is when I first run! However, like you, I only had a rough idea of when I started, so I had a "Runniversary Week". Yes, a full week of celebration. And why not, eh?
I wondered the same thing! I started the programme in September last year but donβt know exact date!! I graduated on 3rd December as I have it written on my old calendar!! π
Just look back 9 weeks from your graduation date and that will be the day you ran W1R1. For me W1R1 was April 18, my graduation run was exactly 9 weeks later on June 18
Iβve looked at my old calendar again and itβs full of little squiggles but goodness knows what they mean!! I had a week off in October when I went on holiday and I remember worrying about missing a week!! Iβll just say Iβve been running a year from September!! π
Unfortunately it's more complicated than that for me. Having played badminton for a few years I decided, probably unwisely, to start c25k at week 4. It went fairly well until week 9 run 2 when something went twang in my calf just 30 seconds into the run. It took weeks to heal and I think it was another 3 weeks before I graduated...........Hmmm, I suppose that cancels out starting at week 4!
I went from Graduation Day as I knew when that was and that felt like THE START of being a runner
How about the day you spent serious money on a proper pair of running shoes and ditched the tatty trainers? You might be able to find the date from your credit card records
Hi Mike , I think it should be from the time you first started from the couch because every run, no matter how short should count.
I havenβt got a clue when that is for me because my journey was interrupted by skiing and I didnβt join the forum until quite late on. So nothing written down. Maybe I should just go back 9 weeks from graduation .
I too take it from the day of my very first run. Literally when I first did my shiny new shoes up and took my first running steps. I didn't really graduate so this is my only distinct date to choose! Luckily my running diary tells me exactly when that was (18th August), how I felt (awful and self conscious), is illustrated with before, during and after photos (not pictured) and also spells out how determined I was to fulfil my promise to run the GNR (happening this Sunday coming) π
Good luck at the great north run Sqkr. And enjoy those people cheering you all the way round. πββοΈπ
Good luck with the GNR! I haven't done any races yet, not even a Park Run!
Have you got one close by Mike? Parkrun is great fun and I have been most weeks since graduation. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈππΆββοΈπ©πΆββοΈππ’
I have always done it from when I graduated, but then its perfectly feasible to do it from when your bum came off the couch. Alternatively be like the Queen and have 2.
Oh I like that idea..
May I have bubbly on both occasions... It will be my runniversary number 1 middle of October ..Then my Graduation one.. the week before Christmas..I like it.. xxx
I say celebrate them all! ... and be proud of each and every achievement, you've worked hard for it.
I know the date I started C25k, the date I graduated, my first 5k, my first Parkrun and my first 10k ... and if I ever do 5k in less than 30mins the whole country will hear me celebrate!!
Started C25K 3rd April this year, graduated 26th May, first 5k 29th May, first 10k 15th July, first sub 30min 5k, 20th July, total of 255k since graduation, first Half Marathon tbc π
Date when i began this great running addiction :)x
I am in the anniversary of W1R1, still have the app on my phone so I know it was Tuesday 3rd April 2018!
Phone has been down the toilet since I started
I count from W1R1 and for the whole of my first year I took a post run selfie after every run. The transformation in just one year is amazing to me and something I'm so proud of! Keeps me motivated on the tough days. (Still purple and sweaty though - lol!)
Wish I had done something similar, brought it home to me tonight, my work trousers that I was bursting out of 5 months ago are literally dropping off me without a belt that is now about 3 holes tighter than when I started
Graduation for me!! It was on my birthday, so I certainly wonβt forget!! πβ€οΈ
And what away to celebrate. My 50th is coming up next month so I need to think of what kind of run I can do to celebrate.........
You have started a runstreak Mikeπ...but how about doing a run in your full alter ego outfit for your 50th!π
First day of c25k. I know when that was as I have a record of every run on Garmin connect.
Mine was all recorded on my phone, which I changed since starting
that's a shame. i've changed from Android to iOS so I doubt if the c25k app will have a record of my runs either. good thing I had the watch by then.
Yep, itβs the date of starting C25k for me - 15th April. Like Steve, I also know the key dates since then (mainly as I started using Strava part way through C25k, so the runs are all on there) - graduated 7 weeks later, now up to 14k and started HM plan (HM booked for March), dropped a stone since then, etc etc. All good π
I like the idea of two runniversariesπ started with the podcasts in April and Graduated in November!
I think there is a way to get the actual date up on your Graduation post rather than just three years ago, but I can't remember how!ππ...
My runniversary is going to be from the day I first started by accident because it was a bank holiday and I didn't have to go to work. That's when the adventure started.
Starting from week 1 run 1. Hope to get to HM by my first runniversary π
I celebrated a year after graduation π
