Do you have a bulging disc? If so it could still be putting pressure on your nerve which can become inflamed causing pain, and running unfortunately wont help 😬some times stretching and anti inflammatories can relive some pain along with some physio ?x

In some people the sciatic nerve runs right through the piriformis muscle in the buttock. You mentioned previous pain in the hip so I suspect this may be the case and the nerve may still be irritated. If you're able to book a Physio appointment, they can do wonders for stretching that area out and giving you a series of stretches and exercises to help treat and prevent future pain. In the meantime, here are some stretches and info that may help?

I have a lot of issues with my own spine (which has a surgical fusion), and can end up with sciatica-type leg pain for a number of different reasons. I’d really recommend going to an expert (Physio / Chiro / Sports Therapist / Osteopath... whoever you prefer or have good recommendations about) for them to examine you then treat / make exercise suggestions.

(I’d had pretty bad pain down all 4 limbs due to my spinal cord since Tuesday night, and didn’t dare run midweek, but after an hour with my Sports Therapist manipulating my spine etc on Thursday I’m now fine and planning to do Parkrun tomorrow morning. Hope you can find what works best for you too.) ❤️
