Only 16 days until i venture into my first half marathon 🤤🤤
Stepped into the cool air last night feeling fit and optimistic, new shoes bedded in i began my run.
I maintained a consistant 5.45 pace and completed 15.2km stopping only once briefly for some water/carb intake. Very happy with the run as i remained relaxed and felt that at 15km i had the remaining 6km left in my legs. ☺☺☺

Might be a good idea to have a few more drinks along the way during the race- no need for nutrition really over 2 hours but poor hydration will bite you hard .
I have read that you can lose 1 litre per hour - believe that too. Weigh yourself and then go for a 1 hour run , weight yourself immediatley upon returning - 1 litre =1 Kg
Had to grab liquid carbs, water with an added carb solution as im an insulin dependant diabetic. Loading carbs and water before i run and training my muscles to release slowly. Will pick up more water on the run, water points at each 5km interval but 10km is a pivotal point as i will need to take medicine and liquid carbs.
Ok, consider me inspired! I'm currently around the 6k mark, just having graduated from c25k recently, but your doing a HM and insulin dependent?!? Wow!
Sounds like things are going great - and that’s a cracking pace to keep up for 15k! Good luck with your final preparations, but it sounds like you’ve got this. 😊❤️
