Iβve just got back before the darkness sets in. Iβm usually a morning runner, but I was straight into work this morning and kept putting it off. π€«
To be honest I contemplated not bothering quite a few times this evening, even with the gear on! But my awareness of faffing, also makes me give myself a boot up the hiney!! Itβs time to go!! π’
I chose the aptly named βEnd of Day Headspace Runβ (25 mins) to substitute for a mostly unguided 2k in my programme (not feeling like free wheeling tonight π). I started nice and slow, which is what Headspace is all about really. Thatβs why I love them! Its just about the joy of running!! And it was brilliant!! I had so much energy towards the end that I was doing quite a commendable for me 7:18, without even noticing it. π―
Well thereβs nothing like a run to mark the end of the day. Letting go of all thoughts and just moving!! Amazing!! 3.35k in 25 mins. Not bad Fabulous, not bad!! π! So glad I went!! ππ
11 days until the Charity run!! π Iβm feeling ready!
Happy running everyone!! β€οΈ

Nice run for you Fabulous, yes, running takes the tension out of a workday, wish you luck for your charity run in 11 days. September is one of the main months for all those 10k, half and full marathons as it is Autumn in the UK, USA and Europe. I am looking forward to resuming my running after a short break due to a sore hip and spectating at my local 10K and watching on the TV both the Great North Run and the Great Scottish Half Marathon.
Ooh it was AlMorr! Ooh my run is only 5k! Iβve not started the journey to 10 yet, but it will be nice to watch those runs youβve mentioned now that Iβve started running too! Never thought of that! Good shout! π I might even pick up some tips! π
Wishing you a good recovery and back out on the run soon! β€οΈ
Usually, when I watch those events on the TV, sometimes during a short break they have mentioned and put on a short video of Laura promoting C25K for people who would like to start running and get fit.
The Great North Run is on the 9th September and will be shown throughout the UK. The Great Scottish Run on the 30th September is usually on television as well, however, it has on the past few years been only in Scotland that you can see it, but with all the Internet and satellites, you may also be able to watch that event elsewhere in the UK
Yes, it is much better thank you, no pain whatsoever, I got a brand new Smartphone on Saturday, I downloaded the C25K app on it this afternoon and chose Laura as my coach. As I have already graduated I thought as there has been about a month or more since I ran, I will recap all the runs with the app, it will be on a Wednesday, Saturday and Monday, but this time instead of 3 runs of week 1 etc I'll do each of those days with 1 week run a day, so instead of it taking 9 weeks, I should take only 4 weeks to complete all the runs, a case of C25K take 2.
Great run fab ππ....your ready for sure ...i will need to look into this headspace thing it sound good ..i am going to do a run tomorrow ..no trying to beat pb ..just a nice run. ..headspace might be good for that ππ
I love it Myrar!! Really relaxed running. I prefer to have the guidance and there are enough quiet moments in between when itβs just you and the music. I do listen to the playlist they recommend for the run on those. Itβs more classical but really great for running relaxed!! π Though it probably isnβt for everyone, I would recommend trying it Myrar! β€οΈ
Hi fab ...i tried the headspace tonight ..i didnt feel like going at all but went ..i used the running on empty one ...it was so strange as i didnt have any music just the 2 guys ..going really really slowly i did the run ....isnt it strange being left alone with only your thoughts ..i have always ran with someone (music or laura ). But these guys leave you alone for a while ..definetly an experience ...thank you for your recommendation ππππ
Iβm so glad you tried it Marion! ππ I took to it straight away, but it wonβt be for everyone. I do use the playlist that they recommend though. πΆ π§ Thereβs a slide button to turn that on or off. You do need to have Apple Play or Spotify to do that I think. π
Itβs great to try different things to see what works for you. I tend to run slower with a headspace run, but I do so enjoy it. π ππβ€οΈ
I am using the Nike+ App Bazza. π I can see it working for that. You would need to decide when to walk, but itβs very relaxing. Absolutely no pressure involved. In fact thatβs what itβs all about. Just allowing your body to do what it can. β€οΈ
Well done - sounds like a fab run! I love to run on return from work and unlike many, find my best runs are later in the day. I have used the Headspace app myself in the past but not for running - sounds great! Good luck with your charity run too btw.π
Oh thank you so much Sandra!! Iβm really looking forward to it! When I signed up, I wanted to run it all, but couldnβt imagine Iβd be doing that, so I thought Iβd at least run some! π¬Totally different now and Iβm loving the thought of just running the whole race in memory of my brother, just for joy! Itβs going to be epic!!ππΎββοΈ π πβ€οΈ
Hi JoPo, Oh no problem. Thereβs so much to discover isnβt there? π² π. Itβs a guided run on the Nike+ running App. Headspace have their own App too for meditations, but theyβve teamed up with Nike to do some guided runs. π§ There are a few on there.
I find them so nice and relaxing. I choose one of those when my day has been a bit full on or when Iβm not quite buzzing to get out there! Always works a treat too!! πππβ€οΈ
I certainly am Dexy!! It works brilliantly for me!! I do have 4 x 1000mtr sprints now after a late night though! π³ But, Iβm off to do that shortly to set myself up for the day!! πͺπ½ β€οΈ
Missed this post Fabulous - sorry! I was going to come and cheer you and Ang on at the charity event but we will be away now - aaaarrrgghhh! π also have to let down Jnr PR on the 9th too. Darn!
Of course Kaz! The headspace runs are on the Nike+ App. Itβs free to download. I hope you find them helpful. Wishing you the very best with your current concerns. Please do know that this time too will pass! Do give it a go! Big hugs in the meantime! β€οΈ
