I hope that some of your running goals and targets for August have been met... The Summer is fading a little and already the darker evenings are creeping in. The runs... like the seasons.. are still there and changing as we move through the year.
Hopefully those of us with injuries or issues are moving forward also.... A New Quest will be beginning for September...
I shall be posting the end of the August Quest certificate... so that you can download it.. frame it, and bask in the glory of your August Achievements.
Happy healthy running all of you!

Thanks OF. I'm glad to say I've mostly kept to my physio exercises. I did fall on my face just the once, but I seem to be getting stronger again, so maybe it's all paying off.
Delighted with the August quest, after hitting my 10k goal on Monday - well ahead of all my expectations! So glad that you are up and properly running with us again now! Roll on September and cooler running days...😃🏃♀️🏃♂️❤️
Already planning a much more free and easy schedule next year - just might pop up in your place then.
This time though already overextended due to last minute "blast from the past"-type request for my presence at a certain place for an unalterable amount of time 😐
Ah lovely Oldfloss. Well I think I've done quite well for August for once in many months, so I'm sort of quite chuffed with myself. I still need to upload those runs though 🙄 I've actually run 3 x in the last 9 days, woo hoo, can't believe it myself, lol.
Hi Oldfloss, I’ve made 3 runs since my last weekly post so I’m back on track again and I have signed up to ju-ju’s magic plan. I will continue to do Parkrun as my 5k run each week. Glad to see you back running 🏃♀️
Thanks Oldfloss - My August has been amazing. Have run on alternate days and really enjoyed every one. Lovely summer running. Have a couple more 10ks under my belt, a new best 5k time, enjoyed running in Cornwall and celebrated my 1 year C25K anniversary! I've also explored some new route possibilities. Have tried to find more trails for future weekend running so as to vary more the road running I inevitably have to do in the autumn/winterevenings after school. I am thinking they may necessitate the purchase of trail shoes as the weather changes (😂 what a shame!). Have run a new challenging hilly route this morning (I've been putting that one off for ages) and survived and will try a new longer route on Saturday - though not certain about whether to stretch to a 10k - will see how I feel.
Hi Oldfloss - it’s been a great month. I’ve run three times a week; I’m loving running with my ‘Wonen on the Run’ club; have a new Parkrun PB; and have got to 9k on Ju Ju’s plan! Looking forward to more challenges in September. All the best.
Huge well done you..you have done amazingly! I love Autumn running. Like a few on here it is a favourite time.. Irishprincess loves it too. Trail running is wonderful too !
Well, Oldfloss, it wasn't a good month for me - struggled with the mojo and only managed 7 runs this month (vs 12 in July), which means that...
1. I finished well short of my 100k target for the month
2. With recent runs focused on getting ready for my first ever race (Cardiff 10k, this Sunday) I have reined back on the longer distances. So I didn't quite make my quest target of doing a 15k, although to be fair the 14k earlier in the month was pretty close
3. And haven't even started on my other quest target, doing strengthening exercises
Pretty rubbish month, but have decided not to beat myself up about it. Instead, looking at things more positively...
Running 7 times in the month, for a total of 62km, is a hell of a lot more than I could have managed when I started all this back in April!
Am continuing to lose weight steadily and this month hit a big milestone - now at my lowest weight for 18 years!
Had a birthday in the month (21 again!), so have lots of shiny new running gear to try out - am now fully prepared for some winter weather!!
So all good really, and aiming to kick off next month with a bang in the Cardiff 10k and then complete all of the above goals during September.
As expected, the start of the month went very well, but the end of the month fell very flat, with only 1 run last week and 1 run yesterday. I managed to run the course for my upcoming race twice this month though, and may get a third one in tomorrow, depending on how tomorrow goes. Work has been so busy and tomorrow is the only part day off in 2 weeks and my son heads back to school next week so should make sure he's got everything he needs before I consider running, but I need a run for my own mental health at this point 😔.
Very very happy to report that despite only managing one run of around 5k each week this month....tonight I went out with intent and ran my 10k for the Strava challenge. Not quite a Pb...but not too much slower than my best time!
Thank you Floss, you helped me acheive it by believing I would do it, right back at the start of the Quest..so I did it with you in mind and for Mummycav (who will be doing hers before long😊)
Not ideal...but Quest complete😎...
Well done to my fellow questers too and happy running 😊xx
Glad to hear you are back out there! I can't believe it is the end of August! I am pleased with my progress. Managed to do three runs a week and now on Week 5 (couch to5k). Off out this afternoon for run2, lovely sunny day so looking forward to it😊
