After nearly 3 weeks of only running intermittently due to a bout of vertigo, family commitments, and enduring a long distance flight to the west coast of Canada - I had a great run around a golf course, hills included in Victoria, British Columbia! The track was mostly tree bark and so good to run on, kind of spongy yet supportive. Was really good, and such a pleasure to be running again. I'm a happy individual once more.
Cross training today, i.e. a walk planned in an ancient rain forest, and a Parkrun on Saturday - yippee ππ»

I'm no expert but I think a break from running can do wonders. And it's so nice to get back to it too. Hope you get to run there again.
Thank you, you're probably right, but I was worried I would lose fitness after such a long break, but seems like all was ok! Onwards to 10k ππ
Wow, that all sounds amazing. Glad you are over the vertigo. I get bouts of the room going round (like being very drunk without the fun) due to shifts in inner ear pressure caused by flying, so I sympathise.
