I was sensible and decided not to do my planned 4k today, as I’ve come down with a sniffle and scratchy throat, no doubt not helped by running 7.25k jacketless in the rain on Monday. I’m not one for failure, so I thought I’d better not risk it in case I had to bail.
And the weather is so perfect ...... Waaaaa. 😩
I’ve also signed up to be token support (first time doing that job) at parkrun on Saturday. I’ll be itching to run I know, but I want to be fully fit next week, as I have an 8k run to demolish! 💪
Hope you’re all keeping happy and healthy and enjoying your various runs. I’m not envious, not at all! 🤥 😅 🤥

That’s what I thought! I was in 2 minds but I thought if I went out and had a shocker, it would have annoyed me for the rest of the day! I don’t like not running. 👎
You’ve made the right decision cheeky. Wish I’d done that a month ago when I started with my virus. Unfortunately I ran a couple of times when I realise now I shouldn’t have- and ended up not being able to run for a fortnight.
In the grand scheme of things, a couple of missed runs is not too bad- especially if you get that 8k next week 😊🏃♀️🏃♀️
That’s funny, I thought I’d already replied to you Beanjo - hope I didn’t reply to you on someone else’s post! 😳
Just wanted to say I hope you’re fully recovered now. It’s all too easy to soldier on when you’re under par, but now we’re putting our bodies through more than most of us used to, I think it’s good to listen to them when they’re not 100%.
Aah I hope you’re feeling better soon Cheeky! Much better to wait until you can enjoy your run with the right level of energy! You’ve already had such a brilliant run this week too!! 🤩❤️
Win, win😊. Well done to you! I have only been in one Parkrun so far and have yet to volunteer. I plan to enter more, perhaps even on Saturday and also plan to volunteer. My husband and I have a routine for Saturday mornings which doesn't fit with the Parkrun. Ah well! Our nearest Parkrun is not really near either. Have fun on Saturday. I wonder which task you'll be doing.
You should try to go along if possible. You know how much fun it is! It doesn’t take much time out of your day, so hopefully wouldn’t upset your routine too much?
I love volunteering. I know what I’m doing as they email to confirm you’re in and let you know then. I’m on token support! I marshalled last time. 😀
Hope you get to go along this weekend or at least soon! 👍🏃♀️
Usual routine includes me going out doing all the weekly shopping, arriving at the shops at 8am. The home to put all the shopping away and before sitting down to enjoy breakfast while reading the papers with my husband. My husband prepares Saturday breakfast which always includes filtered coffee and orange juice among other things. It is probably one of our favourite parts of the week, so relaxing. Saturday is the only day we have a newspaper. Anyway, I have decided that our normal routine will not happen this week. Second Parkrun here I come!! Well that's if all goes to plan. I hope you are getting better and token support goes well too.
Thank you Sandi! I don’t want to jeopardise my running, especially since having had such a brilliant longer (for me) one last Monday. So I thought a few days off would be wise. 😀
Thanks CH. I know I’ll miss running tomorrow, but it’ll be interesting being token volunteer as I can watch how all the gazelles come romping in! Shame you’ll miss it too. 🏃♀️
