Missing my run today. 🤧🤧

I was sensible and decided not to do my planned 4k today, as I’ve come down with a sniffle and scratchy throat, no doubt not helped by running 7.25k jacketless in the rain on Monday. I’m not one for failure, so I thought I’d better not risk it in case I had to bail.

And the weather is so perfect ...... Waaaaa. 😩

I’ve also signed up to be token support (first time doing that job) at parkrun on Saturday. I’ll be itching to run I know, but I want to be fully fit next week, as I have an 8k run to demolish! 💪

Hope you’re all keeping happy and healthy and enjoying your various runs. I’m not envious, not at all! 🤥 😅 🤥

Good girl cheeky! 👏👏👏 It's hard but wise. If you're getting ready for a particular run, better to be safe than sorry.

I hope you feel better in a jiffy!

That’s what I thought! I was in 2 minds but I thought if I went out and had a shocker, it would have annoyed me for the rest of the day! I don’t like not running. 👎

Listen to you, dedicated passionate runner! I love it!!

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Mayanow

And you!! What has happened to us? 😅😅😅

👽☻👻We have entered the twilight zone...!

...in a wonderful way! ☀️⭐🌈

Hope you get better soon😊

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Runsome

Thank you Runsome. Not running will no doubt do me good. 👍

Well Done for volunteering for parkrun if you are not running- it’s almost as much fun. 🏃‍♀️👏👏

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Dexy5

Oh I know Dexy! I’ve done it once before when I’d smashed my toe, and it was amazingly good fun! 😀😀

Good job cheeky, best to ride out the sniffle and smash that 8k next week!

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Jundal

Thanks Jundal. The 8k better prepare itself for being smashed into oblivion (hopefully!) 💪🏃‍♀️

You’ve made the right decision cheeky. Wish I’d done that a month ago when I started with my virus. Unfortunately I ran a couple of times when I realise now I shouldn’t have- and ended up not being able to run for a fortnight.

In the grand scheme of things, a couple of missed runs is not too bad- especially if you get that 8k next week 😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

That’s funny, I thought I’d already replied to you Beanjo - hope I didn’t reply to you on someone else’s post! 😳

Just wanted to say I hope you’re fully recovered now. It’s all too easy to soldier on when you’re under par, but now we’re putting our bodies through more than most of us used to, I think it’s good to listen to them when they’re not 100%.

Mine needs to be fit for my 8k! 💪

Aah I hope you’re feeling better soon Cheeky! Much better to wait until you can enjoy your run with the right level of energy! You’ve already had such a brilliant run this week too!! 🤩❤️

Thanks Fab. That’s one of the reasons I’m (kind of) ok missing today. My 7.25k is still making me smile now! 😀😀

Fabulous450Graduate10 in reply to cheekychipmunks

Rightfully so! Just fantastic!! 😁😁😁❤️

Hope you're back to 100% soon Cheeky, at least you can have some fun at Parkrun on Saturday. That 8k will still be there next week 🤧🏃‍♀️

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to telford_mike

Thanks Mike! You’re right, the 8k isn’t going to go away, so I’ll be out there trotting away on either Monday or Tuesday. 😀🏃‍♀️

I’m looking forward to my new role at parkrun, handing out finish tokens! I loved being a marshal last time! 😀👍🏃‍♀️🏃

Get well soon! Enjoy your Parkrun volunteering😊

Thank 61. I will definitely enjoy volunteering. It’s almost as much fun as running! 😀

How may times have you taken part in a Parkrun and how many times have you volunteered? 🌸🌼🌺 Some flowers for you to say get completely well soon.

Aww thanks 61! I’ve run 5 times at parkrun and this will be my 2nd time volunteering. I love doing both things. 🏃‍♀️👍

Win, win😊. Well done to you! I have only been in one Parkrun so far and have yet to volunteer. I plan to enter more, perhaps even on Saturday and also plan to volunteer. My husband and I have a routine for Saturday mornings which doesn't fit with the Parkrun. Ah well! Our nearest Parkrun is not really near either. Have fun on Saturday. I wonder which task you'll be doing.

You should try to go along if possible. You know how much fun it is! It doesn’t take much time out of your day, so hopefully wouldn’t upset your routine too much?

I love volunteering. I know what I’m doing as they email to confirm you’re in and let you know then. I’m on token support! I marshalled last time. 😀

Hope you get to go along this weekend or at least soon! 👍🏃‍♀️

Usual routine includes me going out doing all the weekly shopping, arriving at the shops at 8am. The home to put all the shopping away and before sitting down to enjoy breakfast while reading the papers with my husband. My husband prepares Saturday breakfast which always includes filtered coffee and orange juice among other things. It is probably one of our favourite parts of the week, so relaxing. Saturday is the only day we have a newspaper. Anyway, I have decided that our normal routine will not happen this week. Second Parkrun here I come!! Well that's if all goes to plan. I hope you are getting better and token support goes well too.

Wonderful routine, and I can see why it’s hard to break. Hopefully you’ll be able to shift it every so often and fit some more parkruns in.

You’ll love it tomorrow - here, at least, the weather is forecast to be perfect. I’ll be sad not running, but I know I’ll love my volunteering role. 😀

Let us know how you get on won’t you? 👍🏃‍♀️

Get well soon!! I've also been running in short sleeves.. just overheat!! Take it easy and enjoy volunteering

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Deals1

Haha, I know what you mean Deals. It’ll need to be very cold indeed for me not to overheat in long sleeves! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done you at not pushing yourself out to run and allowing your body the time it needs to get over the sniffles.

Hope you are feeling more like your old self soon xx

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to SANDI_runs

Thank you Sandi! I don’t want to jeopardise my running, especially since having had such a brilliant longer (for me) one last Monday. So I thought a few days off would be wise. 😀

Get well soon cheekychipmunks, I have no doubt you'll be back out v soon. Enjoy the volunteering tomorrow! I wanna parkrun but have to work 😫

cheekychipmunksGraduate10 in reply to Crawlhome

Thanks CH. I know I’ll miss running tomorrow, but it’ll be interesting being token volunteer as I can watch how all the gazelles come romping in! Shame you’ll miss it too. 🏃‍♀️
