Hi everyone and welcome to a new running week

We are all so busy.....life can be hectic ........and even more so for us runners!

Fear not, here is a place to take five, and enjoy a chat about our running adventures, trials, tribulations, successes, achievements etc.

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If you're a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi, without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy , healthy and well hydrated week,

Oldfloss, Ju-ju, Realfoodieclub, Bluebirdrunner and me..Millsie-J. Enjoy X

Very hot today Bluebird!

Thats a photo I took in Cyprus last year. I do a bit of photography.... just dabble really. I like to use my own photos on here if they are suitable. The one i used a previous week, a young guy walking through a field of waist high corn..... that was my lovely son on a get-away weekend with Pops😀. The flower photos I post are always what I have grown 🧚‍♀️

Talk running I can do. Today is exactly 9 weeks post op and I'm still on the IC. It's amazing just how much of everyday life involves using abdominal and core muscles.

Calf raises I can do. Started on squats again. Some incline press ups but can't hold a plank yet. Madame Loris' patience might be starting to wear thin I think.

I sympathise. How much longer have you got before you can run again? I’ve got 8 weeks and I’m just starting to walk about. Walked in the house for nearly 2 days now and today I drove to Sainsbury’s and did a shop!!!! Bit limpy on the way back to the car but strangely, not on the outer side of foot where I sprained it but on the inner side of ankle. Perhaps I’ve been over compensating?

I can’t wait until I can get out and do some serious walking again. I can really feel where I did my upper body exercises yesterday though ... every time I breathe deeply I can feel it across my chest.

Sorry for the late reply. 12 weeks in total was the physio's instruction. I was hoping to reduce that though.

Walking is ok for me but any sort of lifting or carrying has been impossible up to now. Hope the ankle gets better soon!

Love the photo - where is that beach? My guess would be Greece (but I am biased...)

Very happy with completing week 1 of the JJ210K plan proper - felt really good. Also registered myself for a 10K race in September - ever the optimist!

That is a Cyprus sunset, it’s a photo I am proud to have crafted .....I don’t usually quite get things right!

Brilliant news that you are training for a Sept event, enjoy 😎

Enjoying all the news as I take a two week break to let calves and shins settle down. However, I have been fast -walking my runs which keeps me moving and it feels good to put on the shoes and get out there.I really recommend this if you've got the running jag but can't or shouldn't run!So even completing 5k in 53 minutes walking feels like a good achievement.Back to a slow steady jog still on wk 4, I hope, next week.Have fun everyone .

I'm gearing up for my 7km on Sunday. I was due to run 5km tonight and it's pouring rain! I had forgotten what that felt like. I'll run tomorrow when I'm sure I can have a shower and a complete change of clothes afterwards. Looking forward to it already!
