(edit nobody seems to be noticing the knee support, makes me shorts one side & capris the other!)
Phew it was hard work running this morning. Already 18 degrees when I went out and like a sauna. Even using my inhaler, I was panting the whole time, not helped by the fragrant odour of food bins and rubbish, as it’s bin day today.
Tell me about it Flick. I haven't posted mine yet, but I went out around 10.30 and after ten minutes I thought I just can't do this, it was way too hot. Still, we ventured out so that's something.
Oh I know ref smells and odours, good and bad smells, that doesn't help either.
Whats wrong with you wearing shorts my lovely, you look lovely in them? Xx
I think i should probably stick to capris and wear the shorts for ordinary wear. and yes, hot for running. I think the humidity is the problem not the actual heat. i just couldn't breathe this morning: panting the whole run.
Yup, it’s the humidity that’s killing me too, Flick. I hate it. Saw the forecast for London this week stating 30+ degrees all week and humid, and said some very bad curse words. In front of my dad, who laughed.
Just short runs for me this week - no more than 3 or 4km to keep my legs in the games.
And you rock the funky short(s). 🏃♀️ My shorts are getting shorter. Contemplating just going out in my Runderwear tomorrow. 😂😂😂
I saw the forecast for London on my phone yesterday - higher than here or Oxford.
I could hardly breathe this morning. I wanted to do a longer run, but it was out of the question. My chest is rattly right now because Dennis is moulting, so running is already a struggle till I get rid of the dog allergens.
Well, i love the funky shorts (another from Sturdy by Design) but it seems a bit pointless if my left leg is covered to capri length anyway!
One leg catching the breeze is better than nothing. And do take care, Flick. Short slow runs to tide you over are a good idea. Let’s look forward to autumn and kinder temps for pushing ourselves! I cannot wait. x
Sturdy by Design (all sizes, not just sturdy! ). I much prefer them to Tikiboo. Lots of lovely capris, leggings, long and short shorts, tops. Very very comfortable too.
I think I have the answer Flick . . . "hot pants" are clearly the way to go here . . . that way there would be a gap between the knee support and the shorts / hot pants 😂😂😂😂 (younger people may have to google "hot pants"!)
It’s odd but I never had hot pants. Not really sure why. I had what my father called navel revealing mini dresses in the 60s and ultra short cut off denims in the 70s, plus an amazing top from Biba held together with only one button, that I wore with no bra - but I never had hot pants 😊
Lol definitely unusual tan lines. I’m wondering about leaving the support off for short runs, but my knee is just scar tissue and swells if I don’t support it
Me too sqkr. I’ve bought 2 pairs of 2in1s and they’re so much more comfy than capris. I’m wearing shorts at Pilates too as it’s so hot in the studio. What a summer 😎☀️
Sometimes I wear compression sleeves with my shorts so it looks like I've got 80s shiny leg warmers on! Your shorts are so funky - I can see that you have great style harking back to the Biba era so you will know that looking fab is innate . Go forth and be groovy! (I'm off to check out that link you sent...)
Gosh, well i don't know about style - it seems just to emerge in lycra nowadays, but thank you! Biba was amazing, never seen clothes like it before or since. I still have a scallop edged rose pink wrap around skirt and top, skirt size 10, top size 8 - bit small now ;(
Sturdy by Design have a sale on. I'm trying to resist temptation ...
I've just ordered some long shorts & a top in the sale. Thanks for the link & posting your fab pic! I've been looking for some long shorts for ages that don't ride up as you run, aren't just black & don't cost £40. These look really comfy round the waist too. I'd promised myself a little splurge when I got to 10k - you could just call this 'scratching a 7k itch'!
