I have a pair of Vomero's also. I also have flat feet so I should really be wearing stability running shoes but like yourself I can't get on with them or moulded insoles, basically they just really hurt I now have a couple of pairs of Saucony iso triumph's and a pair Nike Vomero's, both classed as neutral.
Yeah - even after just the minute or so run on the treadmill doing the GA, the insoles has started to hurt, so we gave up on them immediately. Saucony was the only brand I was interested in that I didn’t get to try on - how do they compare with your Vomero’s?
Everybody's different of course but for me the Saucony's are better, they seem a bit more cushioned. I did actually also buy a pair of Saucony Redeemers, these are the stability version and are supposed to be for flat feet, I thought these would be perfect for me but I ended up selling them on eBay because they were so uncomfortable. I learnt my lesson there, don’t buy shoes online unless you know exactly what you are buying and have tried them on. The Vomero's I like but I tend to now use them for walks on my rest days rather than running.
I have a pair of Pegasus too, the first pair I bought (online) which I use on the treadmill. Really like them as well, and even toying with the idea getting another pair of those so that I have two pairs for road running, to sort of mix and match - Pegasus for shorter distances/focusing on pace, Vomero (with the extra cushioning) for longer distances/protecting those joints a bit more.
And after all, you can never have too many pairs of shoes, right? 😉
