New (superwide) shoes! πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘Ÿ πŸ€—

My new Altras arrived today, so excited! 😁 Bought my first pair after gait analysis in a running shop - recommended for me as I have superwide feet (think duck), and they have a lovely spacious toebox. Ordered the new ones online so I could have a second pair if the original ones are still drying out - they are getting regular soakings these days! The new ones seem even more comfy than the old ones - and are so much more colourful! - can't wait to take them out for a spin! πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

Ooh, they look fab! I do envy you having found shoes to fit. Mine are still a work in progress... although I do think I'm making progress at least. Won't post though for fear of jinxing them :D

Yes I'm really pleased to have been introduced to Altras. Buying normal shoes is always a bit of a nightmare for me - at least I can find running shoes that fit me now 😊 Good luck with yours!

I've changed from the extra wide Brooks that were still giving blisters, to smaller, normal width Saucony Omnis (guided by the same running shop, albeit a different member of staff). These are definitely not giving me blisters - even after the 18k. But they are causing my toes to tingle over about 8k. It's a fine balance! Onnce the old blisters have fully healed I will go for thinner socks and looser laces and these may do for me. I suspect though, once the weather is warmer they may be too small in the toe box. Time will tell, but it's proving to be an expensive and tedious journey to finding the right shoes :D

Sounds very tiresome - bit like me trying to find normal shoes. I'm so lucky to have found a brand built for me! Hope you work out a solution x

I also have Saucony Omnis and found the 'black toenails/toe pain' lacing in the attached helped greatly

Ooh. Thank you. I will have a careful read later - even in my overlarge brooks I got two black toes!!!

Those are lovely! Nice to know about the wide toe box; I don't have overly wide feet but have bunions that cause some grief. My new Balance hybrid trail shoes are nice and wide and comfy but will need to check out some Altras on my next go round!

Yes they may be just the ticket for you. Apparently they are not just for people with wide feet but for anyone as they fit snugly around the heel 😊

Lovely shoes MutleyShuffle! I too need the wide toe box and have Brooks which are great, but I will need to be looking at introducing pair no2 as mine are now 8 months old .

Ooh shoe purchase coming up! πŸ€— Yes I need to work out how many miles my first pair have done - I got them on week 5 of C25K I think which would've been April so that would make them 8 months old.

Pretty and effective. Wonderful 😳

They are lush - I want!!

I've got wide feet - the Nike's I have now are better than my previous Brookes (which made my big toe go dead after about 6k), but they're still not perfect. I think I'll have to check out those Altras.

linda9389 Is right- finding the perfect shoe is a tedious (and expensive) process, so thanks for the information 😊

There must be a shoe out there that's comfy! Definitely lots to try in the lacing link tho.
