So yesterday I went out for a run with my sister in law which represented quite a big step for me. When I started couch to 5K in February I had little confidence in my running abilities. Slowly slowly I worked up to 10K but have always thought I couldn’t do a race for fear of being too slow and the sweepers overtaking me 😳 Anyway, I felt on a bit of a high after the run yesterday feeling like I was capable of keeping up with someone! So I came back and entered myself for the Oxford half marathon in October. It’s the first for us both and I think I’ve got enough time to train. Please reassure me that I haven’t got carried away with myself and that I can do this thing 😆
First race- half marathon 😬: So yesterday I... - Bridge to 10K

You can do almost anything you put your mind to but it all depends on each step along the way. Get yourself a good plan like MyAsics and stick to it. Cross train, eat well, sleep well, rest, slowly slowly forwards not quickly quickly.
Get support from the Marathon and Race Support community and the very best of luck to you!

Yes, of course you can do it! Irishprincess gives good advice above as always. I didn't follow a specific training plan but read a few and made up one that worked for me...then it was absolute discipline all the way!😮 Fantastic that you will have someone to run it with, too. I ran mine with my sister and we crossed the finish line together - a very special day! Good luck with your training.🙂

You'll be fine and you can keep each other focused on the training. Just entering is the best way to do it. Good luck.

Are you intending to run it non-stop or using run/walk strategy?
