Well I’m A Believer, 10k Done!!

Having read some inspirational posts last few days and a few polite rollckings, Raso, 61, Tbae, Oldfloss, Ju Ju etc. I listened, my goal today was 4.5m at a gentle pace but i felt good, lost 4.5lbs fasting too so far maybe that was a factor. I got thru terrible 10 well which set me up for the rest, i was maybe helped by Dr Tulkanan’s swilling with suger water every 10mins. Whatever it was it worked 10k done in just under 63mins im happy with that, i fid look fir the Mo Farah kick for last half mile but it wasnt there, got rest of my life to break 60mins. Reward for me 3 comfirtabke runs bext week, treat night tonight and a long bath in the wifes bubbles while shes out. Have a great weekend everyone, keep running. X

No you do right Jenny i had no intention of doing it, i struggled with 4m two days ago, everything just came together today so carried on, just managed it. Thanks

Cheers Tbae great post you were one of the people who ive listened to and that helped me out no end and i can take a bit of pressure off myself now. Im going to enjoy 3/4/5m runs now through the summer and may drop in a 6m once a month but keep it all at a slower pace. Build mileage into my legs as you guys say, cheets for advice bud

Wow Guesty that is a fantastic time for a first go!

I don't mean to rain on your parade and know that you know what your body is a capable of but please do take it easy and have some easy runs as well. You so obviously love running and I'd hate for you to get injured x

Yep your right piano, i programmed into my app goal of 4.5m and felt great at that point so thought can get to 5, then thoughtcan get to 5.5 still ok then thought can’t miss this opportunity. I think Dr Tulekan swilling sugar water worked for me every 10 mins hust gave me a little boost.

Well done on your first 10K, great time too! I watched that programme and my first thought about the swilling thing was for my teeth 😭 Not good and my dentist would have a hissy fit but the programme was interesting in general.

Cheers Irish, i know first thing i did when i got in after the run was clean my teeth again!!! I had to buy some sugar yesterday to prep for it as we dont have it in the house! Didn't like taste but loved the results, thanks

Crikey, so you should be happy! It took me 90 minutes to do the same distance today - though in fairness it was hilly.

People like yourself Flick and others on here, seeing people in the park, on the roads, all shapes, sizes, ages, watching runs on the tv etc have all inspired me to do something different with my life, never thought my new hobby would be so much fun, its just great to be out in the fresh air doing something good for our bodies, thanks.

Just done the first of the 30 mins and loved it.. weirdly!

I definitely plan on this running malarkey being a keeper. Will set new goals after enjoying a few weeks at 30 mins.... then maybe extend a little on the time and distance.

So glad to see your still enjoying it and pushing your goals 💪🏼 brilliant!!🎖

Cheers Debs yep well chuffed, fasting hasnt been that difficult really, eating between 12 - 6pm, i do have a treat day where anything goes and can’t wait for it ......tommorow!!
