It’s bloody hot here. I couldn’t get out this morning so was planning to go 7pm is when it had cooled down BUT I had a slight change to my day which meant that at 2pm I had a spare hour or 2. My head said “don’t be bloody stupid it’s heading for 25degrees and there is little shade” , my heart said “but you’re in the mood to run, you might be tired later, just go for it.”
So I stupidly ran in the midday sun, knowing how much the heat gets to me and I nearly collapsed after 3km! I stumbled so badly at 3.5km that I thought I was going to face plant so at that point I stopped and just walked the remaining journey back to the car.
I’m now annoyed and wished I had waited till this evening as I feel that I have to do at least 5km every time I go out. And I really wanted to do 6+ .
Oh well. I’m gonna do an early pre 7am on Wednesday and hopefully that will be much better.
I’m loving the sun to lounge in but not so keen on running in it!!!

Just accept the shorter run. I think they are good too. That was some heat you ran in. Im a sun worshipper, but 17degreesfelt warm for my run this morning. I wore a hat in case.
Trial and error - the thing is some organised events start at daft times too, so some experience of it isn't a bad thing. Have to slow right down. Watching the Manchester events yesterday and they said the final 10k wave was set to go at 3pm so they must have all had dreadful heat to contend with.
I know people who ran the Liverpool in real heat but I guess I 'll know now just to expect less and do what I can. It can be difficult to know what is the usual doubt , "you can't do this" and what is the actual "no this really is too hot be kind to yourself and stop" !!
I've got a nice early one planned for tomorrow so should be better.
