Look what I did yesterday. Am I now a Runner???

so I graduated from C25K at the end of March(for the second time) and followed the advice to consolidate by running 5K 3 times a week for all of April. May arrived and I wanted step it up a little and have managed to run 7k three times a week for the last two weeks just by dropping my pace a little and trying to take it steady.

I awoke yesterday with the sun coming through the blinds and the birds singing and I felt good and maybe feeling I could go a little further set out for my run. I added a few extra loops to my 7k run and before I knew it managed to get to the 10k mark with lets say no dramas or hiccups!!

I'm absolutely amazed with myself and proud and just wondered what to do next, I have no intention of running any further(for now lol). do I now run 10k every time I run or do I maybe stick to my three runs a week but run maybe 5, 7.5 and then my longer 10k at the weekend??? Advice Please!

also as a little footnote I just wanted to say I never imagined running 5k let alone 10k, not bad for someone with dodgy knees and terrible lower back pain.

If I can do it anybody can, so keep Running!!!

I graduated at a similar time and have only run a couple of 10ks myself so not well placed to advise, but I think the general guidance is to do a long run no more than once a week and do shorter runs in between to recover.

Wow, that's a cracking pace. Impressive.

Congratulations. Well done great achievement.

I recently achieved 10k and am 'consolidating'. For me that means a long run (alternating 7/8/910K) once a week. A short run @ 4K and a 5k.

Congratulations! Very good pace. I’m nowhere near that fast so I’ve decided to do a 4K speed training run, 5k ParkRun and 10k slow run each week. Good luck!

I've also graduated C25K twice, but I'm nowhere near the 10k mark. And I don't have a clue how to get there. Any advice/podcast details would be very welcome.

No advice really apart from slow it down if you want to run a little further worked for me. No specific podcasts or music really, I prefer someone talking on a podcast. Run in the morning on an empty stomach, all these things work for me but of course not everyone. Just keep going and it will all fall into place.
