Hi, I’ve not posted for a while but have carried on with the running since completing the couch to 5k back in January and did a 10k race last Sunday which was hot but enjoyable.
I have an annoying pain though and was wondering if anyone had any advice or stretches they could recommend - my Achilles on my right foot keeps giving me pain. Is it a case of resting up completely and waiting for it to subside? I hate having to not run (blimey, never thought I’d be saying that!!!) but obviously don’t want to do any more damage.
The Achilles is a tricky one and I’ve currently got a problem with mine. The only thing that works in my experience is eccentric heel drops, and rest. And get it checked out by a sports specialist...
my husband rubs voltarol gel on his ATs before and after he runs... also apply ice for 15 mins after a run (bag of peas wrapped in tea-towel!) works wonders!
