It's a beautiful spring day - finally! - so I went for my 9k run on ju-ju- 's last 10k plan. At 5k, when I was on the canal towpath, I came across a boy of about 10 years with his mum, the boy was in his underpants only and had been in the canal - brrr! Seeing me with red, sweaty face he called out 'Jump in and cool down!' Sounded very tempting and I said as much but carried on.
I logged my fastest 5k (by 1 second, I found out once I connected my Garmin up, back home). In the later part of the run, the area where I previously developed a blister with my last shoes became sore again. I think it's in danger of blistering again so I think I will have to wear a blister plaster in future runs
I am now entered for the Bristol 10k with my daughter so I hope to reach 10k in my runs next week. Then I can consolidate it for a few weeks, with some shorter runs in between for fun.
How I love the spring!
