2 wild deer, a goat, a burnt out car AND the goddess of running awarded me with 5 quid

So I have decided to start building up my weekend runs to get ready for my adventure in October ( Snowdonia marathon 😱). So yesturday I did a 9 mile run in my woods... and it was so beautiful. I took the hills nice and steady, I went early just as the sun was starting to twinkle through the frosty air. In true Juicyju ( if anyone remembers my alter ego?) I’ll do a list of the best bits:

Daylight..... oh yes baby, I have become like a bat only going out in the dark.

I saw 2 people and they BOTH smiled.... anyone that follows me on Strava will know I have issues with grumpy people.... and one was a very handsome dog walker, and the other a runner...

2 wild deer bounded away from me, and it was so lovely to see their white fluffy bums bouncing around in the undergrowth.

I came across a goat just staring at me. He had the most enormous ears and beard. He reminded me of Jar Jar Binks.

At the top by paintballing was the shell of a burnt out car.... really eerie and it looked so sad.... and dead.

I had my usual stops and walk breaks. Life is too short for pushing on and missing the views....

On my baby run today I found 5 quid.... yes 5 quid πŸ’·.... I took it as a sign that the goddess of running ( yes she’s a she) was rewarding my efforts. So I bought some croissant for brekky.

If you have a race you are training for ( anything from 5 to 500k) then come and join us on the Marathon and Race support forum and let @Roseabi know the details and we can cheer you on and support your training:

Lovely post Ju-ju. The Snowdonia marathon? - 😱Indeed! But we know you will ace it! Yep, it's mighty cold out there - I have just got back from my run (lovely in the sunshine though). I am hoping that the next time I hit my trails they will be covered in snow β„οΈπŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ(although hopefully not too treacherous!)

Thankyou so much, and yes that will be amazing. I hope the snow stays to the weekend when I’ll be back on my trail..... enjoy, stay warm and safe xxx

I haven't seen the new Bladerunner movie yet - but your run sounds like a benign if slightly surreal version of a post apocalyptic landscape :) Very atmospheric and fun to run it "with" you :)

Yes, I totally love Bladerunner...l and I know what you mean. The new one is worth a watch, it’s really good....l..

Original Bladerunner was so good I hesitated to go see the new one so I'm glad another fan thinks it good :) Will track it down (lol - see what I did there totally unconsciously!) Sooner now :)

It’s not as good I have to say, and a lot in it is copied...... but my son and I really did enjoy it and Harrison Ford is lush 😻

Could never be as good - but I'll happily settle for watchable :)

Sounds great. I love it when lots of different things happen to keep you occupied through a run. Must have passed about 15 other runners this morning and only got an acknowledgment from 2, most just fixedly looked elsewhere - miserable lot.

Great post Ju-Ju. The scenery you describe sounds just like an area I visited recently. I won't forget it as I dropped a fiver. If you should chance upon one?

Wow, a lovely post and beautiful pics as always Ju-Ju. And well done on the fiver! On my runs this year I have found someones credit card and a mobile phone on two separate outings. ( Don’t worry I turned the phone in to the police and had the card cancelled :) ). You were obviously favoured by the running goddess this day...
