My twin aims of slowing down while increasing cadence appear to be working. Really enjoyable 5k, well within myself and within my planned heart rate limits. 5k took just a whisker under 37 mins- not massively slower than when I push hard, which is doubtless a lesson-but I was really fresh at end...did an extra, really slow 0.4 km to cool down. The wind was a bit of a beggar though...although it was amusing to see crows flying forwards but actually going backwards.
The cadence is really helping to reduce the impact on my legs-or at least it certainly feels like it- and feels much more comfortable than when I was lolloping along like the farm-bred clod-hopper I am, with all my 96 kg pounding through every step.
Happy days.
