I’ve just run my first 10k and I’m feeling really chuffed. It’s taken just under a year since C25k to realise I could do this. It’s amazing what you can accomplish with some focus and encouragement from this site. Happy running everyone! 😊🏃
P.s. what do I do now to graduate?

Well done! Kate that seems to be amazing. It is the mind that always try to stop the body from achieving. I tell you what is you must have had the best feeling ever when you did it. keep running three times a week.
Hi Kate, oh thanks - that's very kind of you 😀. I should probably have gone slower really... Anyway, I'm now looking forward to some shorter intervals tomorrow if the weather lets me, and hopefully parkrun on Sat. Happy running 👍 🏃🏼
By the time I got to the final km I was thinking ‘you’re actually going to do this’, for the previous few K I had been singing along to U2- that kept the path clear!
The screenshot I got by holding the top off button on my iPhone and then pressing the home button. This creates the screenshot which then goes into your photos and then you attach it when you post. Good luck with that, and thanks for your reply.
Wowee! If I had a screen shot like that, I’d literally be stopping strangers in the street to show them!! May I ask, did you complete couch to 5k from scratch? Were you actually running 5k by week 9, or just able to run for 30 minutes, I’m only covering about 4.3 km in my 30 minutes. Congratulations on an amazing achievement.
Hi Mabsabs, before I did C25k I never did any exercise. By the time I finished the program I was just running for 30mins and in fact 5k still takes me 31-32mins now. For about 6months I just focused on getting out 3times a week for 30mins with no intention of running any further. But towards the end of that time I found this forum and I found it to be so positive and encouraging that I thought I’d see how much further I could go. If you had told me I’d be running 10k just under a year from finishing C25k I’d have laughed at you but it is truly amazing what’s possible, just keep plugging away. Good luck!
Kate you are so inspiring! I had a terrible run earlier this week but reading your story has put a spring back into my step! I’m going to keep to my plan of 30 minutes, 3 times a week and who knows, this time next year I might be sharing an amazing screenshot like yours. Thanks and congrats again! 😀
