What a beautiful certificate, Old Floss! I did not earn mine, as we were still shoveling snow as of yesterday and my son is bawling me out for not running for FIVE DAYS (<--that's how he says it.)

Thanks... do you not think that with the weather and snow, most of us missed a few targets... I think it was well earned ..you deserve it :)

Love the certifIcate Oldfloss, So pretty. I am managing to get back on track, just hoping the ice doesn’t stay too long. It puts my training out. ☹️

Thanks.. I was back on track..but snow and ice has stopped play again:)

Stay safe... maybe we should all take up ice skating! x

I'm afraid i haven't earnt anything in December either! A combination of slippery pavements and busy weeks.

January look out - I will be back....

It was tricky wasn't it... I am thinking of downloading the certificate for sheer resilience:)

Not quite ready to award myself a stiffykat yet with two and a bit days to go... although I can't get over how thrilled I am to achieve my year long goal to get to Belper East Mill in my virtual swimming challenge. Having the Quest goal was a definite aid to that so thank you.

I still need to squeeze in one more online yoga class (definitely do-able) and a run somewhere new (not so optimistic about that one)... as for weighing less at the end of the month than the beginning, the work for that needed to be put in before Christmas not this week, so I fear that one is blown right out of the water. Still, sets me up nicely for goal setting for January doesn't it?

One more online yoga class completed. Found a very handy one to do after eating.

Well done! I love the idea of yoga, but find it impossible to exercise at home. And anybody who does swimming of any distance deserves a certificate in my opinion. 😀👏

I am no good at all with exercise classes - fast track to injury and illness (eg really bad experience with insensitive T'ai Chi teacher years ago). Fortunately Ekhart yoga is a great subscription service, I have room in my bathroom for yoga practice, , and people tend not to interrupt you so much in there! Mind you, my brown spotted Bengal rescue tried to throw away the phone the video was playing on this morning.

And the swimming... thank you... it's a long project, I started my virtual swim down the River Derwent in June 2014. I find swimming dull (and often uncomfortable if not downright painful) so having a virtual swim to imagine where I am helps (also new cool reptile goggles meant for children) Might finish it by the end of 2018...

Oh, I so wish you all the best with that swim. You are one seriously determined cookie!! 👏👏👏👏

Yeay.... well done on that swim!

I bet you might get the run in... the snow and ice has almost gone from here in the Staffs Moorlands.. not sure in Derbyshire though... ?

Goal setting for January does sound like a plan! :)

It's quite unpredictable round here - which doesn't lend itself to new adventures.

I'm thoroughly shocked and really pleased to say I made it up to the Clent Hills this morning on a 6.8 mile (11k) run that included 617ft (I think it's 188 metre climb). I had been working towards it before the snow events, then had to stop and struggled to get back into it. This morning I just thought I'd give 'running' UP the whole of Chapel Lane a go and see how far I got. I could always turn around and go back down if I couldn't go any further...but to my astonishment, I did it all! It's not impressive by some people's standards, maybe 17% gradient in places but mostly around 12% - 15%, but I'm impressed, so that's good enough for me. 😃

As for club running, well that fell by the by because it was first disrupted by bad weather, then I wasn't sure when they were out over Christmas and I haven't become a member yet so contact details haven't yet been exchanged. Regular club runs will become my new quest for January maybe.

Thank you for the beautiful certificate Oldfloss. ☺️

That sounds amazing Sandyscroll! Well done. We are still gripped by our deep freeze (temperatures hovering around -30 with windchill in the -40-45C range 😖) so have had to do a couple runs on the treadmill ☹️. I believe it is supposed to let up in the new year, just in time for my next set of days off - can't wait for another outside run, aiming for 14.5k next weekend if the legs have it in them.

Brrrrr! It's positively balmy here by comparison! I hated the treadmill so I totally sympathise. I hope your warmer weather turns up in time for your days off. I really struggled to get going again after my stint of treadmill running. Head said GO! Legs said NO! Hopefully you will find the transition easier. Good luck with your planned 14.5k. 😀
