Yo, Ferrari dog!
Enjoy your run tomorrow, with the Ferrari attached you should be flying! I do sometimes consider trying our staff on the lead whilst running but when he runs he storms ahead and I would be dragged along on the floor carry-on style lol.
Staffies make seriously good Canicross dogs - though sometime they are hard to find a nice fitting harness for - you should give it a go.
It would be about getting him to trot along rather than sprint if you see what I mean. Is there specific training for the dog?
I do.
To be honest the best way to learn is to find a Canicross group near you - they are social groups, so no subs to pay etc. And most of them will have some sort of beginners runs offered where there will be kit for you and your dog and plenty of people to help you.
The main Facebook group is called Canicross Trailrunners - in the File section there’s a link to a map of clubs around the U.K. (sorry, it wouldn’t let me link straight to it).
I have the same problem with my German Shepherd. I know they’re meant to be really intelligent dogs but mine is mostly just a naughty, stubborn madam. Hubby and I often joke that we got a defective one! If I try running with her, she jumps up and bites my top when I slow down, as if to say “come onnnn, slow coach...”
So glad you've got a doggie to run with again now & yes I'll keep an eye out for you!
And I have your number. If I get time I’ll text you my bib number.
Fancy bumping into you there lol. How did you do?
I couldn’t believe that you spotted me! And roseabi spotted me at the end as well! I really wish we could put pictures in replies! Chip time - 1:06:09. All due to Brontë
Excellent! Where did you find your chip time?
Looks like a great way of exercising both humans and canines. good luck tomorrow!
Great photo
Good luck! Go Maddee and dawg!! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha!
Have fun xx
Oh good! You enjoy your murder! Is there actually anyone actually left alive in Midsomer? I think the cop did it. There's only him left!
Is that the dog's calf you're icing or your own ? Oh yes, silly me. I see it now
My niece has a pointer and she (the dog) is seriously fast. Not sure I would want to be attached when she gallops!
