Oldfloss, do you run every day? Laura says to rest a day and my doctor told me to do so also when I asked if I could, but I sometimes I find I want to run every day. (I am 70, btw.... and just graduated a couple months or so ago.)

No..never... our legs need recovery time.. and there is so much else to do on rest days, walk, cycle, swim, Yoga, garden.. climb.. Pilates! :)

Also an exercise regime is great to... to keep our whole selves really in trim and strong:)

It is the time when our muscles repair themselves.. :)

Unless you're a 25 year old pro going for the Olympics, you cannot run every day, as simple as that.

If you do then you WILL get injured and as a result won't be able to run at all, will be in pain and may take months to recover.

How do l know all that lovely data? Because l ran without rest and felt l could get away with it.

Seriously, it's not worth the hassle. Rest up, do any other non impact activity and you'll be alright.
